21st Annual International Folk Alliance Conference

The 21st Annual International Folk Alliance Conference will be held in Memphis, Tennessee, USA from February 18-22, 2009. Official Performance Alley showcases will be held on February 18-21, 2009. As an integral part of the Folk Alliance Conference, the official showcases allow presenters, promoters, agents, record companies, and media people to be able to see artists who are working in the folk, world music and dance field. The emphasis is on emerging artists, or those who may be regionally well-known, or well known within their genre, who are looking to expand their opportunities. Artist selection will be based on multiple genres of music categories. Selected showcase performers also have the opportunity to perform private showcases in the host hotel.

Genres accepted include: Singer-Songwriter, Bluegrass, Blues, Traditional, Canadian Roots, Cajun/Zydeco, World, Celtic/British, Spoken Word, Childrens, Dance, Film and other like genres.

Please note: Any artist may apply to showcase. All artists selected to showcase will need to be a current Folk Alliance member or will need to purchase membership prior to the conference; register for the full conference; and provide technical and publicity information.
