Artists in the Plus has had a lot of success with their totally G+ Compilation Album, in this interview we talk with +Frank Palangi of New York about G+ and the recent AITP Compilation Album

How long have you been making music?
since 2006 with this project. 2010 started my public releases with recording in Nashville, TN with the rock band Day of Fire and their producer Rogers Masson on my first EP.
What are some of your inspirations?
My drive, passion for what I love. I write about life and experiences in general. If you can’t connect with what your writing, the audience will pick up on that. Friends, Relationships, Belief and Issues I tend to write about the most.
How long have you been using G+? Tell us about your favorite little quirks of the Plus style.
a few months now. I like idea of a “hangout” and get close friends, and fans to tune in. A close community, yet so far spread apart with people from all over the world.
How did you get involved with Artists in The Plus?
I found their website and filled out a form and things grew from there.
How do you feel about being a part of this album?
Awesome and ROCKIN! Very cool idea to begin with and glad to be apart of the community anytime.
What is your favorite song on it? Why?
I picked I’m Waiting because it’s my first single and favorite track from my 2011 EP. I’ve gotten great feedback on it.
What’s next on your musical horizons?
June 11th releasing a brand-new EP produced by Rob Coates at Labelmix production in Nashville, TN called “I AM READY”. New music videos coming out as well. “Frozen” a single from the record will have a music video and be entered into the 2014 Grammy’s for voting. Playing out this season too.
Anything you’d like to add?
I would like to thank John Voshell for endorsing me and introducing me to google +. All my fans for their support through my journey.

"Frank Palangi Releases self titled EP- GUITAR WORLD"

Hailing from upstate New York, up and coming rock guitarist and singer Frank Palangi’s new EP brims with creativity, remolding mainstream music and knocking out thought provoking lyrics while sharing his positive outlook through his music. Palangi lends new energy and new life to the airwaves with innovative melodies thatspeak to his audience.

Metallica, Ozzy, Godsmack, Creed, Day of Fire, Three Days Grace, Johnny Cash and Goo Goo Dolls all heavily influence Palangi’s musical stylings.

The EP was recorded in Nashville and produced by industry veteran Rogers Masson (Marilyn Manson, Chris Daughtry, Vintage Trouble). Palangi wrote, performed and co-produced the EP, working with Grammy-nominated rock band Day of Fire. “This is the baddest rhythm section in the land,” Masson says.

The hard-rocking “I’m Waiting” and softer, acoustic ballad “Love” are standout tracks. Palangi’s years of constant playing, writing and recording has paid off, but it’s his passion for music that has gotten him where he is. “I have no plan B; I’m not backing down on my dreams,” Palangi says.

Palangi’s first single, “I Am Ready,” will be followed by his debut full length album in 2013.

"Frank Palangi rocks passion and purity of sound"

Frank Palangi is an Upstate, NY artist whose music ranges from acoustic rock to heavier flavors. He writes, and creates all his own music. Palangi said that it has been a blessing to him, due to some of his past medical issues, growing up with those hardships and learning to adapt and overcome challenges with his passion and drive for music.

During 2010/2011 Frank teamed up with veteran record producer Rogers Masson to record his debut EP. The sessions were held in the music center of the world, Nashville, TN at Soundstage Studios. Rogers secured the Grammy nominated rock band Day of Fire and former Full Devil Jacket singer Josh Brown to backup Frank in the studio.

Rogers said, “This is the baddest rhythm section in the land, and along with the vocal guidance of singer Josh Brown, Frank’s songs are going to turn out amazing.” Frank also co-produced the album, which was Mastered by Rogers Masson and Multi-Grammy Award winner Gavin Lurssen.

Come 2012, record producer Rob Coates and his team in Nashville, TN unveiled Frank’s latest track, called “I Am Ready”. Assisting on the track, is former drummer of the rock band Pillar, Lester Estelle.

If you have never heard of Frank Palangi before, and you can’t decide whether to buy his Ep or not, just listen to “I’m Waiting” or “It’s All Right,” and you will be instantly hooked. Frank’s music displays a passion and a purity of sound that is simultaneously refreshing and liberating, ultimately distinguishing itself from many of its contemporaries.

The mainstream rock scene doesn’t have much to offer these days, mostly just soft stuff and rap, but here we have an excellent piece of accessible hard rock. Frank Palangi combines the dirge of grunge with driving hard rock, and tops it all off with meaningful lyrics. The best song on the album for me is “I’m Waiting”, a crunchingly heavy, yet at the same time very melodic song about friendship, that we can all relate to. “Love” is a great ballad, and “Driving These Lines” has a great message about living a lie while searching for the truth, that everyone should hear.

The music just plain rocks and it is refreshing to finally hear music from a talented rock artist that isn’t hung up on topics like sex, drugs, and satanism. Instead Frank has widened the scope to address some important core issues in his life.

Frank Palangi has a powerful soulful voice and his studio band is musically solid across all of his tracks. In fact headbangers can appreciate the crunch of the guitar licks, while Grunge fans can recognize the soulfulness of Frank’s voice. Making it a great rock record overall.

This Ep shows Frank’s natural talent and certifies that he can write songs that compete with the big boys of rock.

Frank Palangi’s self-titled Ep and the new single release, “I Am Ready,” was a great surprise to me. I would recommend it to anybody who likes hard rock delivered with great lyrics and passion.

Buy this album, especially if you like heavy music with melody.

"Frank Palangi Solo Acoustic Live at P-house 10-5-2012"

Performing live at Panther Mountain Inn, Chestertown NY in a solo acoustic show, to a packed house. Frank Palangi invited audience participation & chorus sing-alongs that were out of the ordinary for the P-House and wicked fun to be part of. Playing modern rock music covers and a few of his own originals, I'd say he was a hit. However, to really get a taste of his true talent, check out all of his ORIGINAL reverbnation music with a full band backing at http://www.reverbnation.com/frankpalangi

Sounding much like Alice in Chains, Godsmack, Pearl Jam and with his deep crooning vocals very much like Eddie Vedder on many of his songs, the difference between his live acoustic and original full band electric guitar music is striking. I've been listening to his 1st CD for 2 days non-stop, addicting riffs and rhythm, his voice and songwriting skills are unforgettable. Frank Palangi has two CDs out and is already hard at work on a third of which he already has a number quickly reaching hit single status, titled I am Ready. Frank has had indie record interest and a major recently. "It's different with the indie record labels and what they can achieve. I really want to hit the mainstream audience with my style and I think it will really take off. I see things changing everyday and opportunities that I could of never imagined."

Right now, the future is unset for this upcoming artist. Working hard and always having a focus, he plans on releasing his full length in 2013. Remixes of the EP with new vocals and instrumentals and brand-new material, that Frank remixed himself and new material produced by Rob Coates. "In a way, it proves to me that I can put together a complete idea without a label and be independent. I don't plan on backing down on my dreams. No plan B here."

"Frank Palangi (vents magazine)"

Who’s Frank Palangi?

A solo artist bringing new music that is a creative sonic blend of rock music that remolds his sound, thought-provoking lyrics, while offering great melodies and arrangement for the modern audience with a positive outlook.

How you got started in the music scene?

The project I developed in 2006 but things really didn’t start to hit the scene till 2010 when I met rock band “Day of Fire” and worked with them and their producer, Rogers Masson, on my debut EP in Nashville, TN.

The whole experience of flying from Upstate, NY to Nashville, TN and working around the top studios and being around the scene was amazing! I really started to push the EP tracks toward the mainstream and get my name out there.

What are your music influences?

Metallica, Megadeth, Def Leppard, Godsmack, Creed, 3 Doors Down, Three Days Grace, Johnny Cash.

What’s your method at the time of writing a song?

I usually start with the guitar. Get the structure down, feeling and connection with the piece. Then the words and what I feel the song is about, comes out piece by piece. I then record a demo version of just acoustic and vocals and move on to a full instrumental demo that I perform all the instruments for. I like writing the music and being really creative ever since a kid with getting into the world of movies and learning how they were made. Anything to build up from scratch and seeing how each process unfolds, it’s exciting.

How you felt when you heard you will be opening for acts such as TRAPT, HURT, FUEL and how was the experience?

It was awesome! It’s great to see hard work pay off. I had been trying for a while to open for bands like that and it really was one after another once it started. I loved being able to go backstage and load-in the back where everyone doesn’t get to go…lol Talking with the people who work there and in the bands are part of the experience. I was very grateful they had me open for them. Fuel liked the set and we did another show on their tour as well. I give props to my live band I play with for being flexible and giving it their all. Talking with the fans I have and meeting new people and connecting at the merch booth and where ever they may stop me is what I love about these shows. I look forward to more shows like that and I’m the easy going type, where if anyone wants to talk with me and ask me questions, it’s my pleasure to do so.

So I got understand you are working on new material. Can you give us some insights about that. Any official release date, title for the album yet?

No release date yet. Some details I can give ya. I’m re-mixing and re-doing the vocal tracks to the EP to give a fresh take. “I AM READY” will be on their with a new track I’m working on now called “Frozen”. It’s a rock ballad side, something a bit different like a Daughtry, Goo Goo Dolls type with a different take. That track will be geared more toward mainstream radio that wouldn’t really play hard rock type tracks. 3/4 more songs will be recorded. One called “THANK YOU”. It’s def. going to be my full realized version of what each finished song should be and holds up to the artists of today. I can’t really say much more right now. Stay tuned

What has been the funniest moment you have been or took part while touring?

Couple times of doing radio interviews and screwing up the liners and them keep em for the air. My guitarist took a hotel room pillow and it was worn and torn anyways…. but he wore it as a shirt and ripped off on stage like the Hulk…. I was like, ohh…no….lol

Are there any more plans for the future we should be aware of?

I’m in audio mixing and side producing too. I’m just focusing on the shows, song writing, and expanding my network base. I’m still looking for a label that believes in what I do and wants to work with me not just take the artists $ and do nothing. A few cases I’ve ran into that.

“I AM READY” new single

Do you feel you are moving on the right direction?

I believe in myself. I have the will, determination, drive and passion to keep moving forward in my career. “I have no plan B in backing down on my dreams”. I see the progression. Through new contacts doors have been opening and I’ve been blessed. I appreciate my family, friends, fans and anyone who has helped me along the way. - Vents Magazine

"Dreamer of the Day, Frank Palangi says I Am Ready!"

Some of us are born with creative licenses. We know from the very beginning we were made to change the world whether it be through music, art or with words. Dreamers often wonder what it’s like to touch the stars while others are making efforts to climb mountains to reach them.
“All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.” – T.E. Lawrence of Arabia
Frank Palangi is one of the dreamers of the day, who knew from the very beginning he was made to create music and inspire those around him. Frank states,
“I have no plan B in backing down on my dreams.”
He was inspired at an early age after watching Brandon Lee perform a guitar solo in Action film, The Crow. It was then, his parents bought him a black electric Jackson guitar. “I’ve owned 16-20 guitars through the last 11 years.” Frank adds.
While at a Creed concert, he met Brandon Oropallo, who later became guitarist for Frank’s band. Through Brandon, he also connected with other band mates, drummer Josh Opitz and bass player Salvatore Leggieri. He grew up in upstate New York with no thoughts of surrendering his dreams of constantly creating music. Frank took control of his dreams and cast them into the daylight to flourish, handling his own musical affairs whether it be booking his own shows, representation, promoting and the works.
In 2010, Frank Palangi met Grammy nominated Day of Fire lead vocalist, Josh Brown after their concert in New York. Frank handed Josh his CD. Day of Fire singer gave Frank’s CD a listen after leaving New York. Frank was contacted by Day of Fire producer, Rogers Masson to come to Nashville, TN at Sound Stage Studios on Music Row to record his EP.
Frank expressed, “It was really cool working with them because Day of Fire is one of my influences in Christian Rock music. I couldn’t believe I met them. Then, that leading to flying to Nashville and getting thrown into the whole experience.” This was Frank’s first time flying as he took that much awaited flight from New York to Tennessee.
Frank stayed at the Best Western next to BMI, who handles his recording rights. He thought Nashville was a cool city with bars being so close, their sounds meshed together musically giving the city some life. “Music Row rocks with just all studios and music businesses.” Frank states.
Palangi was excited to finally be in the studio with Producer Rogers Masson. He also had lyric sessions with Day of Fire lead vocalist, Josh Brown. It took a week to record the first three songs, and another week for two more tracks, Driving These Lines and Love. Frank adds,“I wrote I’m Waiting back in 2008 and revamped for the EP.
The track lyrically has a good message to hoping and praying that someone you care about moves in the right direction in their life.” I’m Waiting is Frank’s favorite track since it was inspired musically by John Carpenter’s Halloween. “The riff in the verse, is similar and loved the idea.”

Frank Palangi has received radio air play and interviews from FM/Internet stations, and also online news articles regarding his music.

"1 on 1 interviews Frank Palangi"

1 on 1 Interviews
Interview with Frank Palangi from Queensbury, New York (7/18/12)
Interviewer: Daniel Haight (Website Owner)
Earlier this week I had a chance to talk with one of New York’s fast rising Indie Music Stars Frank Palangi. If you want to keep up to date with what Frank’s got going you can go to his Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/frankpalangi
What is the main reason why you wanted to get into the music scene?
Frank: I loved learning the instruments and making music with my recording equipment I had at the time. That developed into deciding to get into the music industry and start to send out my music to see what it could do in the world.. A lot of practice and working on songs before I was ready to step out. I just have a passion for music and being creative. It’s a great outlet as well.
Was it hard at first to gain this much exposure?
Frank: Yes, and it’s hard for every artist out there. It’s not handed out, and sometimes when you work above and beyond, it still isn’t there. You have to start with a good foundation with good tunes. Build your image and who you are. Stand for something as well. Have a clear message of what you represent. Play gigs, network on the internet. When you feel your tracks are ready, upload to the many different sites like Reverbnation, Facebook. Don’t just upload to one… make a profile for all of them!
What kind of messages do you try to convey in your songs to your listeners?
Frank: I like to write in positive ways and don’t focus as much on the dis-function reality of today. I feel as if someone who would look up to me that I could be an inspiration and it’s important to me not to set a bad example.
Describe for me the mind set you go through before, during and after your performances.
Frank: I stay pretty cool and collected. Don’t focus too much on what could happen or things that could go wrong. I get excited nerves and if you love what you do and enjoy being on stage then there shouldn’t be a distraction. I don’t worry if someone says they don’t like it. Thinking you are pleasing the whole audience and worrying about it does no good because you can’t please everyone and don’t try to.
Do you change your song lineup at the different venues you perform or does it stay the same?
Frank: Definite change based on set length, who the act is that I’m opening for and just trying out new things. I usually start with my “Ring of Fire” pre-recorded intro then go into my “Intro” building up the energy and the feeling of where is leading to. The new single “I AM READY” really gets a good reaction and when hitting the part where all the instruments come in is like a train hit! It’s a mad burst of energy. I like to keep things raw but tight.
How would you describe your rehearsal times?
Frank: I practice just about everyday for an hour. I used to play for 4 hours a day. My time is limited now leaving less time to practice. My live band and I practice 2 twice before a show. Never the night before… that’s bad…lol
I spend time writing, marketing on the internet, recording demos and everything that goes into being an upcoming artist. It’s what I do 24/7.
What keeps you motivated to write new material?
Frank: I like being creative and most times when I pick up the guitar I just start to play. Sometimes it’s a cool riff that leads into a song, other times it’s just chords and I express what I’m feeling.
I like the idea of growing and expanding and being able to show different sides of a personality through a song. It’s a god-given natural born talent. I’m grateful.
What makes your music stand out from other artists that play similar styles like you?
Frank: I put a lot of who I am in what I do. It’s real. There is no way of faking saying that’s just the bubble gum version. In the rock genre that I’m in, I don’t write the same either. Certain bands I am influenced by and you can probably here that but the structure and the way everything comes together is all in my mind. C - Digital Music Info

Rogers secured, Grammy nominated rock band, Day of Fire, and former Full Devil Jacket singer, Josh Brown, to backup Frank in the studio. Rogers says, "This is the baddest rhythm section in the land, and along with the vocal guidance of singer Josh Brown, Frank’s songs are going to turn out amazing." The record was mastered by Rogers Masson and multi-Grammy Award winner, Gavin Lurssen.

2012 EP

Track By Track:

I AM READY - This track starts off with a simple intro and then the rush of Palagni's vocals highlight the passion of what's to come. The fast powerful riffs are in your face traditional hard classic rock. I love the running repetitive chords that stop on a dime. He takes on themes of challenging what you believe and leading the way take a stand in the end. The song forces the question of drive that we all should ask ourselves. Palangi comes out and makes his statement that after the searachable growing up, he is ready to lead. The final jams are cut through the roof, with razor sharp edges, that end the track with excitement, but don't drown out the meaning and impact of the song. Great solos without being self indulgent. Lyrics are inspired, but challenging to the listener.

I'm Waiting - "Waiting and praying" for another "to realize what is there for you." Palangi holds the torch in the midst of others who are ambivalent about who they are or what they want.

Driving These Lines - A gritty rhythm and hushed vocals make this a catchy tune that should easily be aired on the radio. This had a punk edge to me and was a great mix of styles with an interesting production effect of Palangi's vocals in the background. My favorite pick on the EP by far, the unique styles blended within the same song made something new to encounter with every listen..

Love - A great metal artist can show emotional depth with an intense rock ballad. The video that accompanies this song is very sad and carries the mystery of what could have been. It is the eternal consequence of love that continues throughout the ages.

It's All Right - Opening with quiet signature sounds and breaking into full blown production of the metal collective. This had more of the contemporary grunge rocker influence. I ran Palangi's music by Mick Houser, bass player for Dr. Mudd and Skeleton Crew, a New York native himself. He said of Palangi's work,

"Sounds like Nickelback meets Days Of The New to me. Not so much old-school classic rock,

but more like late 90's - early 2000's post-grunge alternative rock."

Live Shows:

Frank Palangi has headlined his own shows, and opened for the following national artists: FUEL, TRAPT, Candleligh - Bluebird Reviews

"Recording artist Frank Palangi proves himself "Ready" for success"

A year ago, singer/songwriter Frank Palangi was promoting his self-titled, five-song EP. His hard work and dedication paid off remarkably well with radio airplay, print and online interviews, opening slots for national acts, and a steadily growing fan base that supports him tirelessly. New York’s Post-Star newspaper awarded him 2012 "Best in the Region" for No. 1 acoustic solo artist.

Palangi’s new single, “I Am Ready,” was produced and engineered by Rob Coates and Jacob Veal. The track was recorded in Nashville (guitars, drums) and New York (vocals, engineered by Dustin DeLuke), and its title says everything about the artist’s lifelong goal to succeed in the music industry.

Frank Palangi’s accomplishments are no accident. They are a combination of talent, perseverance, communication and a lot of hard work. He dedicates every ounce of his energy to music and understands the importance of promotion, responsibility and treating his fans with respect.

In this interview, Palangi talks about his new single, his work ethic and the solid decisions he makes in order to further his career.

Let’s start with an update about what’s going on in your world, which is quite a bit.

I've been progressing and moving along on a good path. I can't thank all the new fans enough for their support. It's been a new experience for me with support from different areas of the U.S. "I Am Ready," the rock single, has been released on iTunes, Amazon and more, with a national radio campaign hitting up Rock and Christian stations. I’m working on new material with Rob Coates and his team in Nashville. I’m opening for national acts and rockin’ some awesome shows! I was nominated for the Grammy Live 2012 contest and made the Top 60 of top trending artists.

The last time we spoke, which was in June 2011, you had released a five-song EP. Since then, your career has been moving in leaps and bounds. What are some of the steps you’ve taken to move forward?

Well, in one way, I wanted to seek out some endorsements. Currently, I'm endorsed by InTune Guitar Picks and Guitar-Cable.com. I’m continuing my self-promotion and marketing online every day and making new contacts in the industry. I have spread out with EP reviews from websites, press and magazines, and landed in Music Now magazine with my name on the Issue 6 cover. I’ve received local media with newspaper coverage, rock stations blogs at Q103 and WEXT, and even made FOX23 News! The EP did fairly well and I'm still promoting it. It for sure led me in a new direction, opening doors that I couldn't have reached before that. The EP was recorded in Nashville with Rogers Masson producing and the rock band Day Of Fire assisting me.

You’ve been gigging nonstop, including opening slots with Trapt and Hurt, and a show with Fuel on June 22. How did those come about?

I got in touch with the local booking company here, they sent everything over to the management and they liked what they heard. I have opened for Trapt, Candlelight Red, Jesse Malin, the former vocalist for D-Generation, Deluka, and now Hurt. By personally getting in touch with different bands’ managers, I received two tour offers within two weeks of each other with artists that are charting on Billboard. I've learned that an offer isn't always the best offer to take right away. Don't rush yourself. I'm really starting to see the avenues open up and it's what I've been waiting for. At the same time, I'm learning a lot about the industry and the different deals that are involved with the process. Breaking into the business is not easy, and not everyone is ready for something like that. As a solo artist, I like getting to work with many different people. I still do a lot of solo acoustic gigs and band-backing gigs when opportunities present themselves in the Northeast. The live band I have for most of the shows in the area have been great with support, flexibility and bringing it to the stage - Alison Richter Music Industry Examiner

"ROCK FOR FOOD FESTIVAL IN KINGSTON THIS WEEKEND"

Dave Beesmer wanted to organize a festival to benefit veterans and booked a bunch of fabulous musicians, only to discover that the process is mired in red tape: He’d have to get state approval, submit to all kinds of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) bylaws and requirements and officially register as a fundraiser. Beesmer, whose father was former commander of the Kingston VFW, wanted the show to go on, so he switched causes and now the event will be for the Queens Galley, the Kingston soup kitchen, homeless shelter and food pantry that is between locations but still very much in business. The money raised at this weekend’s concert will help in the Galley’s relocation.

The Rock for Food Music Festival, as it is now called, will be held from April 27 through 29 at the large stage at Backstage Studio Productions (BSP), located at 323 Wall Street in Kingston. The event features 18 musicians performing over three days. Beesmer said that tickets are a relative bargain: $15 for admission to one day’s performances, $10 for youth age 18 and under and free for kids under age 6. Three-day passes cost $35 for adults and $22 for teens under age 18.

Beesmer, who runs a company based in Lake Katrine called FrontRowDave Productions, said that the musical genres will range from country to blues to jam-band to rock. He’s dedicated to both music and good causes: As a videographer for Concert for the Catskills last year, he interviewed many of the bands and posted the footage on YouTube, along with information on how viewers could donate to Hurricane Irene victims.

Beesmer said, “This is not a garage-band event,” but a showcase for some very talented musicians. The roster on Friday night – doors open at 5 p.m.; music starts at 6 p.m. and runs until midnight – includes Midnight Slim (who played in the Levon Helm Band), Mister Kick, Sonny Rock (who was just inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame with his band, the Smokin’ Aces) and blues guitarists Rhett Tyler and Early Warning, who are also in the Blues Hall of Fame.

Saturday, with music scheduled from noon to midnight, features Gina Marie’z Dance Group, from Highland, who will pay tribute to 9/11; RT and Sredni, out of Woodstock; Just James and his Johnny Cash Tribute show, with special guests; Lindsey Webster, another Woodstock favorite; Frank Palangi, who regularly records in Nashville; The Redeemers (performing music of the Beatles, Rolling Stones and more); the jam band Blue Mountain Bustdown (from the Berklee College of Music in Boston); and HOTROD, the WBPM house band featuring John Henriksen, who will pay tribute to the Doors.

Sunday’s festivities start off at noon with Black Mountain Symphony, followed by members of the Chandler Travis Philharmonic, traveling from Cape Cod. The lineup for the rest of the day – the music ends at 9 p.m. – consists of NY Country; Art Adams, a Rockabilly Hall of Famer from Indiana; Mojo Myles Mancuso; and Marc Black, whose song “No Fracking Way” is becoming an anthem to a movement.

"Frank Palangi And Trapt At Northern Lights [REVIEW]"

I had the best time last night at Northern Lights! I finally got to meet and see Frank Palangi perform, as he opened up for Trapt. Candlelight Red and The Lost Sons also performed. The day started with two of the bands visiting the station, and ended with Trapt on stage until almost midnight.

Earlier in the day, Candlelight Red visited the Q103 studios, followed by Trapt a few hours later. Both bands were interviewed on-air and even performed acoustically. I got to sit in on Trapt front man Chris Brown’s interview and acoustic versions of “Contagious” and “Headstrong,” which was a very special moment. Chris discussed the current status of the band and the headway they’re making on their new, upcoming album Reborn, which is scheduled to come out in late September.

Listening to him sing on the radio was a real gift- it showcased his raw talent and voice, and proved that he doesn’t need back-up instrumentals because his voice alone is brilliant. The entire time he was singing my entire upper body was blanketed with chills, and anytime that happens it truly is something amazing and a beautiful experience.

Official Frank Palangi Facebook

Later that night at Northern Lights, local opening act Frank Palangi came on stage. He is one of the newest up and coming heartthrob musicians. We have covered him extensively since he was “discovered” and he is quickly rising in popularity. He had a big fan base present including a few groups of girls who were wearing fancy dresses and covered in glitter for Frank, as well as a number of people who donned their Frank apparel in support. I even got to meet his parents (one by surprise and one on purpose) who were very sweet. I thought it was awesome that they came out to see their son perform, and that’s just what he did.

Frank opened up with a Johnny Cash intro- his three-piece band surrounding him (the drummer’s set reminded me of Dorothy’s shoes when she was in Emerald City- shiny, sparkly bright red). They just popped on stage and it was very apparent Frank is a natural on stage- confident, interactive, passionate and full of life. All four guys were very energetic and completely into the music. They occasionally threw things out to the audience, who responded well to Frank and his band. He really ignites the crowd and the stage, and if his face were an open book you would be able to read on him just how much he loves what he does. It was an honor seeing him play, and I felt such a sense of pride watching him. I feel as though we’ve almost been with him from the beginning, watching him quickly evolve into this rock star, and I was just so incredibly proud. It’s clear that this is just the beginning of a very successful road for Frank, and I can’t wait to see where it takes him.

In addition to the set list, a few small solos were done, as well as bits and pieces of cover songs that were made into one song that included “Sweet Home Alabama” and some Led Zeppelin.

Official Frank Palangi Facebook

Frank’s set list was as follows:

Intro
“It’s All Right”
“I Am Ready”
“Good Times Bad Times”
“Driving These Lines”
Solo
“I’m Waiting”

Local band The Lost Sons took the stage next and put on a good show, as usual, and got good vibes from the audience. Their set list was as follows:

“Breakthrough”
“Empathy”
“Perception”
“57?
“The End”

Official Candlelight Red Facebook

Pennsylvania quartet Candlelight Red performed third. It was their second to last show with Trapt, and I really enjoyed their performance as a whole, as well as them individually. When we first arrived at Lights they were hanging out in their trailer grilling up some dinner, and were kind enough to share with us. They were friendly, down-to-earth guys who turned up the volume when they got on stage. They were a bit heavier than the previous bands and their music was fast, loud and catchy. My favorite part was when they covered the classic “She’s Got - Q103 Albany (Jen Beaudoin)

"Queensbury’s Own Frank Palangi Counts Down His Favorite Aerosmith Songs"

With Aerosmith coming to Albany this summer, we decided to see what some of our favorite local artists like about ‘Americas greatest rock n roll band’. Frank Palangi was more than happy to help us countdown his favorite tunes. There is a certain sound that Aerosmith has. It’s a sound that you recognize right from the first note of one of their songs. It’s probably one of the reasons why they have the staying power that they do in the rock world.

Frank Palangi noticed that about the boys in Aerosmith, and had this to say about them.
Frank Palangi:

Aerosmith in general has raw emotion and a cool laid back but rockin’ energy about them. They moved on with the times and still stand on the top in my opinion. ‘Somebody’ is not as known but very cool tune. The first two records are really great. You can see the hint of Tyler’s soon to be full rocker voice progressing! Guitar work on these are routed around the melody and don’t over play tracks. Everything about them in general are a timeless band that will last.

So what are Franks favorite Aerosmith songs? Here are his top five: - Q103 (BJ Ragone)

"Frank Palangi interview - I AM READY"

Frank Palangi Interview
Questions and Answers with Frank Palangi American guitarist April 1, 2012

Frank Palangi 300x297

Frank Palangi

1. How is 2012 going along for Frank Palangi?

The fastest moving, promising, and ongoing networking year yet! With the new rock single “I AM READY” released March 20th on Itunes, Amazon, Emusic, Rhapsody, Loudtrax.com, UNIR1 records and more, it’s been keeping me on my toes. A national radio campaign is the in process as well for the single across the U.S on various stations including 97X.fm 97.1 on your FM Dial in Madison, Wisconsin, HDRN Hosting, EdgeRadio Broadcasting, XChamber Radio, Unir1 Radio, Exit 97.7 WEXT, Q103, KQLN 91.3 FM Hard Rock in the Desert, 7 WAVES, CFJU, STATIC RADIO, WRXV, WSNL, WYSZ, CFJU, THE RADIO ZOO, FUEL RADIO, WIXL, WRXV & WVOF, THE CHRISTIAN ROCK 20, KRNG, CROSSWALK RADI, THE X MUSIC NETWORK, WGNW, WIXL 97XFM and more!
2. Can you tell me about the process of recording the latest song I am Ready?

Record producer Rob Coates and his team in Nashville, TN recorded this track. I’ve written this material which moves more toward that mainstream audience style and sound. Assisting on the track, former drummer of the rock band Pillar, Lester Estelle. It’s a kick ass rock track with feeling ,raw ambition, and not a cookie cutter formula. Comparable to current mainstream rock, it’s being recorded like the latest Foo Fighters album with that old school feel that gives it that warmth and like your right in the room, listening to the whole band. I executive produced the single as well and proves to be a statement so far in my career. All the instruments were recorded one by one rather than all the performers in one room like I did with Day of Fire for the previous “Frank Palangi EP” release. I actually recorded the vocals here in Clifton Park, NY at the Rock School of Music and sent everything digitally to my producer. Doing it that way was more cost effective this time around. We used SPLAWN electric amps to record the electric guitar, the background electric was a VOX amp direct out recorded on a 1977 Ovation Preacher. A little secret people don’t know is that I recorded the acoustic right in my home studio room…lol I use Ovation acoustic/electrics.
3. What are your current endorsements?

Intune Guitar Picks Inc.
Guitar-Cable.com
#Spon by Supercuts.com for their artist program
4. What’s your vision on the Internet as a tool to promote and market Music?

It’s the life line of an artist for today’s tech world of networking. I do almost everything using social media, emailing and etc. I reach my fans easier and can write to them more on a one on one basis. I wouldn’t have gotten this far without the internet and email.
5. With all the bands coming out today. Do you keep updated with what comes out online, etc?

Not as much I believe as I should. I stay busy promoting, networking, recording, practicing and everything needed to get there and that eats up a lot of my time. I follow the bands I’m into and buy all their albums. What I like to listen to and what my competition would be are pretty different. I like 80's metal, and Nu-Metal bands and then other bands like Daughtry, Goo Goo Dolls, Red, Johnny Cash.
6. Has your influences changed in the years?

Yes, from just being influences bands from Metallica, Megadeth, Ozzy, Godsmack, Creed that had their peak when I was young, I have influences from newer bands like Rev Theory, Daughtry, Three Days Grace, Hinder, Red and Black Stone Cherry.
7. Where do you find inspiration to write music?

Just from picking up the guitar and usually right away a riff or melody will come into my head. Lyrics are usually after the structure of the song is finished. Sometimes it could be just a line or phrase I hear and write down and come back to it. I use past experiences, relationships, family, friends, events, general subjects like fame, losing someone and self determination.
8. Are there any other products or projects we can see from you in 2012 and in the future?

I’m working on another single track right now called “FROZEN” with the same producer Rob Coates and his team. Lester E. is back on drums and getting the guitarist, Noah Henson, from Pillar as well. Not sure if releasing in 2012 though… we’ll have to see where things go. A full album in the future, 2013/2014, could def. happen as well.

"Frank Palangi EP (review)"

Frank Palangi, EP

March 20, 2012 | by Skope

What can I say about Frank Palangi that his debut EP does not say on its own? Frank’s appearance is a bit deceiving in comparison to how he sounds. He has a cute baby face and looks like the guy next door. Then you turn on the music and his powerful voice spills out of the speakers and knocks you off your feet.

He is a solo artist from Upstate New York cranking out solid music with depth and feeling. Grinding guitars and belting vocals drive his poignant lyrics straight to your brain. It absorbs into your soul until you feel like a part of the music. The CD is an experience that consumes every muscle.

This is a hard rock CD that is not like any other rocker I have heard. There are spots that are reminiscent of early Metallica, mainly vocally. But each song is creating a new world of music that is making a nice home in musical history. He has a new single, “I Am Ready” that flirts with your senses, then viciously ignites uncontrollable emotions. Makes me ready for some more!

It has been awhile since the airwaves have heard some real hard rock. Palangi is not messing around. He wants to be taken seriously and is holding nothing back. These are some real head banging tunes with diversity and edgy subtleties. A very cool mix of old school in a new age. - Skope Mag.

"Queensbury musician in running to perform at Grammy Awards"

If Frank Palangi can just get enough online votes, he'll finally get the exposure he's been seeking since his senior year in high school, an opportunity to perform at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles with his band.

The Queensbury native nominated himself for the chance and was accepted into the contest that gives one artist or band a slot in the nationally televised awards show.

Palangi says a trip to perform at the Grammy Awards would be all the exposure he needs to jump start a successful, lasting career in music.

The experienced recording artist may be only 23-years-old, but once he starts strumming it's easy to notice he's got both drive, and talent.

The motivated Queensbury native has come a long way since his 10th grade garage band days jamming with 'Lethal Injection,' and so has his attitude.

From a small practice studio in his home he said, "I have a motto saying 'I have no 'plan B' on backing down on my dreams, so hopefully whatever way it takes me, I'll get there eventually."

Right now Palangi is closer to those dreams than ever before.

The friendly performer is now face to face with an opportunity to bring his rock slash acoustic style all the way to the Grammy Awards in Hollywood.

One band, one song, one shot.

"It would change my life. It would change anybody's life," he said.

"For the chance to give an Indie artist to do something like this? I've never heard of it before, and I'm like, I cannot pass this opportunity up, I'm like I have to get it out there," Palangi said.

When he's not strumming chords, writing music or making music videos, Palangi is promoting himself, something he's kicked into high gear ever since voting on the Grammy website began.

"I looked yesterday and I was on page four, now I'm on page two, and I keep teetering from the first page to the second page, so that means the votes are really close together," he concluded.

The young artist promises he is up for the challenge.

"I have a new song coming out that's called 'I am ready,' and to me, I'm just waiting to break into the market and say 'let's go, I'm ready for this," Palangi said.

On Thursday night Palangi was ranked top 50 in the voting out of about 1000 hopefuls on the Grammy website.

But he still needs your help.

Fans are allowed to vote up to 10 times a day now through January 23rd.

The Grammy Awards show airs in February.

"Frank Palangi – EP (2011)"

Maybe the time is right for a new John Bongiovi for a brand new generation. Rock solid and catchy, Frank Palangi merge kick ass rock energy and soulful melodies only to deliver modern, powerful and catchy rock songs, possible anthems of a new age. Gifted with a powerful voice and the fire of creation, armed with raw ambition, Palangi seems to be determined to conquer the world.
Recorded in Nashville, TN with producer Rogers Masson and the Grammy nominated rock band “Day of Fire” to backup Frank. In music center of the world, Nashville, TN at Soundstage Studios. Frank has written, performed, and co-produced this material and it was mastered by Rogers Masson and multi-Grammy Award winner Gavin Lurssen.

Rogers says, “This is the baddest rhythm section in the land, and along with the vocal guidance of singer Josh Brown, Frank’s songs are going to turn out amazing.” The five songs – “I’m Waiting”, “Drivin These Lines”, “Love”, “It’s All Right” and “Remembrance” – are a perfect blending of modern, powerful post-rock sounds and soulful, eventually deeper and smoother, mainstream rock flavors.
Imagine a blending of Nickelback and Godsmack and you will get pretty close to the universe build up by Palangi. And actually this is a vibrating, soulful world made of colorful thoughts and darker shades, smartly balanced and arranged into beautiful songs.

In 2012, Frank heads to the studio again with new single with record producer Rob Coates and his team in Nashville, TN unveiling the title called “I Am Ready”. Frank has written, and co-produced this material which moves him toward that mainstream audience style and sound. Assisting on the track, former drummer of the rock band Pillar, Lester Estelle. Coates mixed/mastered the album at LabelMixStudios. Frank executive produced the single as well and proves to be a statement in his career.
Looking forward to listen his debut album. - Brushvox

"Frank Palangi’s New Year’s Teaser"

Up and coming local rock star Frank Palangi is set to have an awesome year music-wise, and he is starting it out with a new year’s teaser that is sure to get fans riled up with anticipation. Read on to find out what it is!

If you’re unfamiliar with Palangi, you can read more about him via an interview with Q103 here. He is basically a solo artist bringing new music that is a creative sonic blend of rock music that remolds his sound, thought-provoking lyrics, while offering great melodies and arrangement for the modern audience. He is from Queensbury, and has played pretty much every venue within 50 miles of Albany. His fresh ear and sound are promising, and everyone who listens to him seems to fall fast. He even has his own Android app.

Early this year, record producer Rob Coates and his team in Nashville, Tennessee will be unveiling the title of Palangi’s next rock single, which is to be called “I AM READY.”

Palangi executive produced the single and has written this material which moves him toward that mainstream audience style and sound. Assisting on the track is former rock band Pillar drummer Lester Estelle.

It’s a kick ass rock track with feeling, raw ambition and not a cookie-cutter formula. Comparable to current mainstream rock. It’s being recorded like the latest Foo Fighters album with that old school feel that gives it warmth and like you’re right in the room listening to the whole band, Palangi says.

Currently, Rob Coates is producing, mixing, and engineering many local, indie, and major projects. With over 15 years of engineering, he has had the honor of working with clients and colleagues on projects including artists, bands, producers, engineers, musicians, and labels such as Warner Music Group, Sony/BMG, PBS, David Archuleta (American Idol), Brad Noah (Disciple), Traa Daniels (P.O.D.) and more.

Right now, Palangi’s debut “EP”- five-track album is selling on Itunes, Amazon and more. Work produced by Rogers Masson, and assisted by Grammy-nominated rock band “Day of Fire.”

"10 Questions With Local Solo Artist Frank Palangi"

Earlier this week, I reviewed newest local artist Frank Palangi’s debut EP, which was released on August 31. The soloist hails from Queensbury, and has been blowing up the local rock scene with his talent, personality and good looks. I have heard nothing but good things about him and expect nothing but success from him in the future. I had a chance to talk with Frank and ask him a few novice questions about his life, inspirations and goals for his musical career.
Palangi has been in the local music scene for some time now, paying his musical dues in venues and bars around the Capital Region- Bogie’s, The Upper Deck, The Linda, Trick Shots and UNOs, to name a few. His next local show will happen on Black Friday, November 25 at O’Tooles restaurant in Colonie- located in Kohl’s Plaza.
What/who first inspired you to get into music? Who was your first favorite band?
I don’t tell this often, but it was the film The Crow starring Brandon Lee that first made me pick up the

Official Frank Palangi Facebook

guitar. I thought it was really cool the guitar playing in the film and why not pick up one at the local shop. I was a big fan of the film and thought it would be cool for Halloween to dress up as the crow as well with the guitar…lol.
Metallica was the first band I loved, watched the live performances and bought all the CD’s.
What/who is your biggest motivational musical inspiration?

It was Green Day and Sum 41 what I first started to learn basic power chords but then I found my calling with 80's metal. Metallica, Ozzy, Megadeth, Def Leppard was my main inspiration and favorite bands because of the structures, riffs, and fast tempo. Then came Rob Zombie, Drowning Pool, Godsmack, 3 Doors Down, and Creed for current bands of the time that started to get me to think, hey, maybe I can start to sing? I remember trying to play and sing and my mom saying you’ll be able to sing and I would get frustrated and say “no mom, I can’t.” Little did I know…. as I was getting out of high school and learning more about modern rock, I loved bands like Three Days Grace, Rev Theory, Nickelback, Day of Fire, Hinder, and Daughtry and has now helped understand and shape to a modern audience. I love energy, melody and heart in a song and bits of pieces of all those artists come up in certain tracks I do.
I read that you tried out for a few television talent shows. Can you tell me more about them, the processes and how they worked out for you?

Official Frank Palangi Facebook

I tried out for America’s Got Talent and The Voice. It’s basically sending a video in first, and then going to NYC (about 3 1/2 hours away) and then live auditions for about 90 seconds of a cover song with waiting in line for about seven hours. I got the call back for AGT to come and do a live audition but that was about it. These shows I learned to pick people that can make more interesting TV than anything whether bad or good and some who all ready have had record contacts and etc. I might audition again for something in the future though.
You’re currently in the running to open up for Sebastian Bach and Vince Neil. Can you tell me about that?
Well, in less than two weeks they are playing at Showcase Live venue in Foxboro, M.A. I went with my guitarist, Brandon Oropallo, to do a live audition there to open up for national acts. We blew the roof with just us and not a full band line up. They loved it and said they will now look at the bands playing there and hook up with the best fit. Very excited to go back there sometime soon and I’m always on the look out for local shows with national acts. I’m ready for anything now, just have to find booking companies to jump on with me.
How was the whole EP recording process and working with Rogers Masson?
It was amazing! I got to work with one of my influences “Day of Fire” (Zach Simms, Joe Pangallo, Chris

Official Frank Palangi Facebook

Pangallo, Josh Brown) on the record! I met them on the last show of their last tour! I believe things happen for a reason and it was meant to be. Josh the lead singer and former Full Devil Jacket singer, took my demo I had at the time and said, “hey man, I’ve got a 14-hour ride back to Nashville, TN. I’m going to listen to this.” You don’t see that often from people in big bands that actually take something and truly listen to it. Well, couple of days past and their producer, Rogers Masson, contacted me and said Josh told me about you and I’m looking forward to working with you. That was like a hitting the lottery feeling for me at that moment to hear that. From getting the songs ready, going through the structures, and lyrics with Josh Brown here over the computer in Upstate, NY to the first time flying ANYWHERE, to Nashville, TN to work on the EP record at Sound Stage Studioswhere many famous country artists and rock artists have recorded was amazing! It was an experience in itself. My cousin and my dad went down with me and I’m really blessed to have that suppor - Q103 Albany (Jen Beaudoin)

"Newest Local Solo Artist Frank Palangi- EP Album Review"

Recently, a video of new, local heartthrob artist Frank Palangi’s song “Love“ was posted on the website, and received lots of positive attention. The acoustic and rock artist hails from Queensbury and does all of the writing and creating on his own. His self-titled debut EP was released on August 31, and by the sounds of it, he’s headed on the path to musical success.

The extended play was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Rogers Masson, and includes five of Palangi’s newest and best songs, and is a promising example of what his first full-length studio album should sound like. He reminds me of a modern-day Jerry Lee Lewis (if he mated with current rising band pop Evil), with his deep and strong voice and catchy, sometimes dark sounds. Songs “Love” and “Remembrance” are a bit slower, while “I’m Waiting,” “Driving These Lines” and “It’s All Right” are faster and more rhythmical. Each song’s instrumentals are solid and complimentary, but don’t overwhelm the lyrics and voice.

Palangi has performed at a number of local spots, and his next show will take place at O’Tooles restaurant in Albany on Friday, November 25. You can preview Palangi’s music via his MySpace page.

I give this EP three guitars! - Q103 Albany

"Frank Palangi EP review"

From the state of New York comes the rocker Frank Palangi, he has 2 independent releases from 2006 and 2008 in the luggage plus a brand new EP that was recorded with Roger Masson who has worked with Marilyn Manson. Palangi is accompanied by the Grammy nominated rock band Day of Fire on these new songs, he mentions at his site that he is inspired by Creed, Metallica and Johnny Cash. That is a suitable description for his sound too, I think the music lies somewhere between grunge and hard rock where Palangi´s voice bring thoughts to Eddie Vedder at times. The songs are solid where my favorite is the heavy"I´m waiting" exceptthe acoustic "Remembrance" which is no fun at all while the 70´s riffs of "Its alright" is quite cool. - Melodic.net

"Albany Rocker Frank Palangi’s New Music Video ‘Love’"

Frank Palangi has been in the Upstate NY music scene for a few years now and has a very diverse sound. This is a music video produced locally by students at The New School right here in Albany. It’s a great song and the video is a roller coaster ride of emotion.

"2011 -Greg’s Take- Frank Palangi: EP"

There was a sound that could have been even greater, had it not been cut short by tragedy. I’m referring to the sound that was crafted around the vocal style of rock legend Lane Staley. The range and power of a voice like that reshaped rock forever. Unfortunately, many have tried to recreate the sound with no luck. The reason this has not been achieved is because people try to overdo it.

New York rocker and songwriter Frank Palangi is on par to bring rock back to the way it needs to be. His straight-forward, sometimes dark, style brings the honesty out of rock that has long been dormant. Matched with his belief that music is quintessentially entertainment, he crafts songs that are just as infectious as they are creative. With a yet to be determined release date, Palangi teamed up with established producer Rogers Masson to help define his debut release.

The EP definitely carries its fair share of addictive rock: songs like “It’s All Right,” an all encompassing power track that dabbles in Sully-like vocals with post grunge composition; and “I’m Waiting,” a track that will have you holding up your proverbial rock bowl and saying “MORE PLEASE!” But he also mixes the pace up a bit; bringing forth acoustic tracks like “Love” and “Remembrance” only exemplifies what sets Palangi apart, because where most rock bands would stretch their limits, he maintains discipline and does not step outside of his abilities. This restraint is in no way bland, but rather darkly entertaining.

Palangi is not just another machine cranking out hard rock song after hard rock song, granted the man will play live if given even the slightest chance, but there is thought to his lyrics. He’s not afraid to open his mind to his music and let it bleed emotion into his songwriting.

Layering both seriously entertaining rock tracks with legitimate writing, Frank Palangi is on to something great. Normally, simply comparing an artist or band to another is weak and an excuse for critics to skip doing their job, but with this EP you can’t help but be drawn to the similarities to an early Lane Staley. With a dark, well paced music like his, we’re reminded of just how dynamic music can be. - Nanbot Rock Reviews

2. How did this band get started?
I started in 2006.

3. What bands are you influenced by?
Metallica, Godsmack, Creed, Day of Fire, Three Days Grace, Johnny Cash, Def Leppard.

4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Metallica - my main influence in music and guitar playing. Daughtry - great artist! I think he would be really cool to work on tracks and tour with! Creed - the first modern band that I found that influences me and I have a similar style to.

5. Best food to eat on tour?
Pizza, burgers, Chinese food!

6. Why should people listen to your band?
I'm a solo artist offering new music that is a creative sonic blend of rock who remolds his sound, has thought-provoking lyrics, and offers great melodies and arrangement for the modern audience. I have the drive, will, and determination to go all the way!

7. If you could be any athlete, which athlete would you switch places with?
Michael Jordan.

My parents, family support, producer, people I recorded the record with, record company.

9. If you could change something about the music industry, what would it be?
Weeding out some of the cookie cutter sound out there and bands that aren't great live. The pop genre of today is hurting with the auto tune and things, but it makes mad $ and that's all they care about.

17. What is something that most fans don't know about you?
I love to play video games!

18. What is your assessment of the current state of radio? Do you think it's a place where your band could flourish?
I think so. But because Clear Channel and other chain companies own them, they have no indie music acceptance and that's not good! They have to give some people a chance more than just a local show hour on the radio. We've heard the same tracks over and over again! They won't give up their ranking #'s that keep the stations moving.

19. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Take it easy, go to eat, see a flick, spend time at the lake, play guitar, drum, write songs, do some video editing and film making on the side.

20. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
I'm a videographer, actor, film maker, and self-marketer. - Absolute Punk

"Interview with musiciain Frank Palangi"

I recently had a chance to speak with modern rock artist Frank Palangi who will be releasing his self-titled EP on August 31st. The New York native weaves a tapestry of tunes that range from acoustic numbers to heavier, edgier rock and roll tunes. Here is what Palangi had to say.

What can fans expect when they pick up a copy of your new self-titled EP?
Frank: A new, modern rock sound that has a clean, positive message with energy. From catchy melodies, great arrangements, to thought-provoking lyrics. They will hear that this is my best work yet and get the sense of my original sound. A mainstream attitude with drive, will, and passion for the music.

Are you satisfied with the overall outcome of the new record?
Frank: I am very pleased with the way the EP came out. I wish I could have recorded all 5 tracks together in one session but then I wouldn't have grown as an artist in between as well. I got to work with one of my influences Day Of Fire Grammy nominated rock band/ former Full Devil Jacket singer Josh Brown during the record and couldn't have worked out better.

How long did it take to record?
Frank:From planning in May 2010, recording 1st session in June in Nashville, TN at SoundStage Studios, to releasing the single in end of August. "I'm Waiting" to session number 2 in March 2011… about a year and a couple months. I was down in Nashville both times about a week at a time get things done.

You worked with Rogers Masson on this release. What was that like? Did he push you in new directions?
Frank:Rogers was easy going and great to work with. He has respect for the artist and their visions. This was my first time being in a professional recording studio and he helped me ease into things really well. I had a pre-planned sound that I hear in my head and a vision of what the tracks would come out to be. Together, we tried to achieve the best we could with our budgets and time.

What's your musical background?
Frank: Mostly the 80's metal/late 90's rock genre. Band like Metallica, Megadeth, Ozzy, Def Leppard to Creed, Godsmack and to more modern acts like Three Days Grace, Day of Fire, Rev Theory.

Times are tough these days. Do you have a job when you are not touring?
Frank: Not really, my career and life is music. I do solo acoustic gigs on the side to make some extra money. I film weddings or events on the side as well here and there. Most of the time I'm very busy making new contacts, reaching out to the industry, getting radio interviews, looking for airplay on internet, local FM, national FM radio, booking companies, licensing. A bunch of different things. Without the internet, I wouldn't be anywhere.

Do you have any rituals before you hit the stage?
Frank: Not really. I try to drink a lot of water for the vocals, not be stressed, and take it a bit easy and then hit the stage and let out all the energy. Usually the band and I are setting up equipment and talking with people.

Check out the song: "Remembrance"

How long do you practice your instrument a day?
Frank: I used to play guitar in high school 3 hours a day… I've learned a lot and usually play 1 hour a day on guitar now, but I'm into making songs now and working on lyrics and recording demos most of the other hours of the day. I play drums and bass as well.

Who are your biggest influences on your playing?
Frank: Metallica, Megadeth, Def Leppard, Creed, Godsmack, Day Of Fire

What is next for Frank Palangi?
Frank: Currently, I've sent my promo EP's out to booking companies, labels, radio, and licensing. Ourstage.com out of 100,000+ artists, they picked 800 to license music and I couldn't have been happier that they choose me. It's things like that, keep you moving. I would like to open for more national acts that come through my local Albany, NY area and do a 2012 tour with the full band line-up. I've auditioned for America's Got Talent, The Voice, and a VH1 style music reality show. I've got my "irons in the fire" and will see what comes up. I believe I have the will, passion, and drive for what I do. I live and breathe and really keep moving forward. Like Rogers says, "it just takes that one person to listen and believe". There's only so much I can do on my own, and I can't believe what I've achieved. - Pure Grain Audio.com- Bruce Moore

"Odds and Ends"

MiniReview

Frank Palangi “Frank Palangi EP” [EP] – Frank Palangi is a solo rock artist from upstate New York cranking out a loud modern rock sound in the same vein as Creed and Godsmack. His self-titled EP was produced alongside Rogers Masson, who has worked with the likes of Marilyn Manson, and The Mavericks. The tracks are powerful and Palangi has a throaty vocal tone that is a cross between Daughtry and Scott Stapp. Some of his darker tunes, such as “Driving These Lines” sound like Marilyn Manson but without the crazy theatrics. While the songs are bold and lyrics interesting, there are two issues that dampen my enthusiasm. One, Palangi’s vocals just don’t do it for me – it sounds like he is imitating too much rather than trying to find his own voice. Two, despite their strong presence, most of the songs lack a sharp memorable hook. I hear potential in here though and wish Palangi luck in reaching his fullest level. If you like the aforementioned bands, Palangi’s EP is worth checking out. The release date for the EP has not been scheduled yet, but should be out before the end of 2011. "Frank Palangi Set To Release His Debut Offering “Frank Palangi EP”"

MT Press
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NY, NY July 5, 2011

The musical talents of Frank Palangi have finally brought us the much awaited debut release of “Frank Palangi EP”. Along with the producing efforts of Rogers Masson, who has worked in the past with the likes of Marilyn Manson, and The Mavericks, accompanied by Grammy nominated rock-band Day of Fire, Frank Palangi has released music that reminds us of some artists that have defined rock music.

This solo artist hails from upstate NY and has founded his love of music from some of the greats. Inspired by Metallica, Johnny Cash, Creed, and Godsmack, Frank Palangi ventured down to Nashville, TN to work with Rogers Masson. According to Rogers, “This is the baddest rhythm section in the land, and along with the vocal guidance of singer Josh Brown, Frank’s songs are going to turn out amazing."

Without a doubt this music is pure rock, yet Frank Palangi remolds his sound for the modern audience. The mix of arrangement and stimulating lyrics brings in a whole new generation of rockers that take their queue from the old greats.

The ballad “Remembrance” is a track on the EP that offers a bit of a change and here it is evident that Palangi has talent when it comes to writing lyrics. “Drivin These Lines” offers more of Palangi’s signature style with intricate melodies and a dynamic that really brings this song to life.

Now more than ever this NY based artist has ambitions of making it in the business and becoming a mainstream act in the industry. The street release date of “Frank Palangi EP” is still to be determined but anticipate an end of the year debut.

Frank’s singles “Remembrance” and “I'm Waiting” can already be found on iTunes, Amazon and more digital download outlets.

"Singer/Songwriter Frank Palangi : "The Goal I Strive For Is Growth""

With the release of his self-titled, five-song EP, singer/songwriting/multi-instrumentalist Frank Palangi is poised to take the next step from independent artist to rising star. Palangi has been honing his craft since adolescence; now in his early 20s, he has years of writing, recording and performing to his credit, in addition to filmmaking and production work.

In a bold move, Palangi presented his demo to Day of Fire frontman Josh Brown, who was so impressed that he passed the recording along to producer Rogers Masson (The Mavericks, Day of Fire, Marilyn Manson). A few weeks later, Masson called Palangi; by summer they were tracking at Soundstage Studios in Nashville, with Day of Fire as the session musicians.

Palangi already had two self-produced, self-recorded CDs to his credit prior to the new project. He gigs almost every weekend around upstate New York, has achieved radio play, chart positions and awards for his music, and is now working diligently to promote his new EP.

In this interview, Palangi discusses the craft of songwriting, his passion for acoustic and electric guitar, recording in Nashville, and the importance of having a broad musical palette.

You began playing guitar at age 13 and studied classical guitar for six months. Was your focus already on songwriting, or were you primarily interested in being a musician?

I was originally just a musician; I focused on guitar, bass and drums. One day, I decided, “Maybe I'll sing a little to one of my favorite Metallica tracks, ‘One,’ and from there I began singing more and more. The focus on songwriting didn't come into play until a few years later. In 2006, I recorded my first indie solo album in my basement and had all of my own original lyrics and music coming together. From there, songwriting became more aware to me and I began to grow — lyrics that made more sense rather than just cool words written down.

What made the guitar interesting to you? Who inspired you musically, and which songwriters inspired you most?

I grew up with chronic allergies and asthma and didn't do school sports. My grandfather was a violinist and that's where I believe I get my musical background. I decided to buy a guitar after taking a 6th grade music class that made me aware of what a guitar really was. The bands that influenced my foundation are Metallica, Megadeth, Creed, Godsmack, Ozzy, 3 Doors Down, Day of Fire and Three Days Grace. All those bands have drive, great guitar riffs and a good, solid sound with production and performance. The songwriting side that I relate most to is Metallica, Day of Fire and Creed. Their styles are all different from each other, conveying a clear message to the audience. My singing style, with the way words are structured, comes from them as well. I believe who you listen to comes through in your basic structure.

You also play bass and drums. When did you add these instruments to your repertoire?

A bit after playing guitar, all came into play when I bought an 8-track tape recorder and wanted to demo out cover tunes and originals. Of course, you need bass and drums. Over the years, from learning by ear and watching people play live and from DVD's, I learned each instrument. Believe it or not, I consider playing drums my relaxing time. It frees your mind from whatever is going on. I record bass only when I have to.

Your influences are diverse, from country to metal, and you play both acoustic and electric guitar. Were you introduced to numerous genres of music as a child, or did you explore and discover on your own?

I was introduced to many different styles, metal to hard rock, Christian rock, country, industrial and indie. I loved it all. Movie soundtracks with the heavy rock sound are what really started me on the journey, because I'm a filmmaker on the side and was interested in every side of things. Movie scores are another big part of my influences, from John Carpenter to Brad Fiedel from the Terminator movies. I love the electric guitar and prefer to play that, but the acoustic is where the modern songwriting comes into play. You really just sit down and hear the raw sound of the song and focus on the lyrics more.

How has this diversity helped you expand as a writer?

It really helps a lot because you don't get stuck when learning. I believe it's a must to explore the different sides of genres to open new paths and adapt playing styles. Don't keep yourself in one box, because another opportunity may arise. Lyrics in different styles sing about different things as well. Country or pop may not sing too much about pure aggression that metal has toward certain views. You can really gather up tools from these places and build your own. With breaking into the mainstream market, I've noticed lyrics are much more important than heavy guitar riffs, but you also need a great melody. I feed off that from 1980s metal bands. BIO:
A solo artist bringing new music that is a creative sonic blend of rock music that remolds his sound, thought-provoking lyrics, while offering great melodies and arrangement for the modern audience. Upstate, NY musician whose music ranges from acoustic rock to heavier flavors who performs, writes, and creates all his music, has been a blessing for him, Palangi said due to some of his past medical issues. Growing up with those hardships but overcoming them with the passion and drive for music.

Frank headed in to the studio with veteran record producer Rogers Masson to record his debut EP. The sessions were held in music center of the world, Nashville, TN at Soundstage Studios. Rogers says, “This is the baddest rhythm section in the land, and along with the vocal guidance of singer Josh Brown, Frank’s songs are going to turn out amazing.”

As a writer, he says he focuses on creating songs people will want to hear over and over again. And nostalgia, he believes, is also an important facet of songwriting. “Music should be entertainment. The more you listen, the more you want,” Palangi said. “It's all about revisiting songs and remembering when you heard them in a certain time of your life – almost like a photo album.”

Palangi likes to perform as frequently as possible. He plays heavily in the area around Upstate, NY, the city he calls home. Any chance he gets to play either solo or with a live line-up, he rocks the house. With wanting to branch out with live shows in other states/tours... the future is wide open for this musician. His constant playing (and constant writing, recording, promoting too) are signs of his passion for music – something he believes is required for someone to be truly accomplished as a musical artist. “If you want to play music, it must be a passion and a drive. Practice is the key to getting better. I have no plan B in my quest in my career, this is what I want to do the rest of my life. Also songs need to bring a certain personality to them, a character so to speak. Every track is for me with personal meanings and the meaning of the listener."

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise and knock you off your course on to your heartfelt passion. I have no plan B in my path toward my career and always hard at work."

"I'm Waiting for Skope Reader to hear Frank Palangi"

This is an exciting feature to help kick off 2011. I heard my next guest’s single “I’m Waiting” on Skope Radio for the first time last year and since then I knew I had to have him on. It is with great excitement that I bring on Frank Palangi. Frank is from upstate NY and his determination to make it in music is refreshing & exciting. Frank’s vocal ability is what really grabs me as when you hear him you will be quick to make comparisons but he truly has his own sound. Besides music, Frank is also heavy into film and his Youtube page is worth checking out. Join us as Frank Palangi talks about what guitar he uses, his love of film, the meaning behind “I’m Waiting” and so much more!

Stoli: Where are we talking from today and are you in the holiday spirit?

Frank Palangi: Good old Upstate, NY and yes.. everyone around here is putting up their trees and getting in the spirit. I know my family is..lol.

Stoli: How long have you been playing music and seriously pursuing it as a career?

Frank Palangi: Really since 2005/2006. I decided right as senior year of school was ending to make a independent solo album and see what I could do with it. From there… my creating.. never ended…

Stoli: Your battle with asthma and allergies led you to music and not sports. Do you see that as a blessing in disguise now?

Frank Palangi: I do because some of the things I couldn’t really do as a kid, lead me toward movies and music. I could play guitar from the safety of my room/house but I could also get out there to open mics and practice in front of people. I think singing has improved my lung power over the years and help me stand out from the sports and other activities. It has def. shaped the person I am today with the help of my parents and grandfather.

Stoli: You recently released your song “I’m Waiting.” Is that song based on a real life experience?

Frank Palangi: I think a song always has more than one meaning in general. Recording this new version brings the track into the mainstream. It deals with someone who you care about who is going down a bad path in life and your waiting, and praying for them to get back on track. For me personally, it’s about an old bass player who’s life and path, went down hill fast.

Frank Palangi “I’m Waiting”:

SKOPE IT HERE!

Stoli: I love the guitar & instrumentals in that song. Please speak on where you recorded the track and who you worked with?

Frank Palangi: I recorded the track in Nashville, TN at Sound Stage Studios. Famous for recording a bunch of country singers from Johnny Cash to rock singer Elvis. I went in the project with record producer Rogers Masson who’s works which include The Mavericks, Day of Fire, and mixing for artists like Marlyn Manson. He secured the Grammy nominated rock band Day Of Fire (former lead singer of Full Devil Jacket, Josh Brown) and toured with bands such as Daughtry and Non Point, to assist me in the studio. Rogers says, “This is the baddest rhythm section in the land, and along with the vocal guidance of singer Josh Brown, Frank’s songs are going to turn out amazing.” I love that I could write, and create everything 100% based on my solo version and go in the studio with them and just hammer out some mainstream tracks.

Stoli: How did you hook up with Roger Masson and what did you learn from working with him?

Frank Palangi: I was at a Day of Fire concert here in Upstate, NY. They have been one of my influences for sometime and I wanted to meet the lead singer, Josh Brown. Before they went to play their set, I did meet him and talked with him after they were finished, gave him my 2nd solo independent that I recorded in my home studio and he said he would listen to it. Couple days later, I heard from his producer, Rogers, and I couldn’t believe that I was talking to a record producer! The feeling was awesome! Over 4 months of emailing and calling, we then scheduled a date to start recording. He’s a very nice guy, great producer and I give me credit for help giving an independent artist a helping start.

Stoli: Can we expect a video for “I’m Waiting” and if so what would the theme & storyline look like?

Frank Palangi: Maybe in the future after the EP is finished. I’m actual going to be releasing a music for “Remembrance” the solo acoustic track with strings. It’s tough because Day of Fire recorded the track and I don’t have an official full live-up yet to record a video with the band guys. This music video is going to be filmed very soon by Editor and Director Jeff Knight, who has worked on some great music videos in NYC. The story is about remembering life. Flashbacks of the past, memories, pictures spread about. It’s going to be very cool!

Stoli: Who are two other musicians that you respect and listen to?

Frank Palangi: Metallica and Creed. Great bands, talent, and meaning in their songs.

Stoli: What does music offer your life that nothing else in the world can offer you?

Frank Palangi: I think for a lot o - Skope Magazine

"Frank Palangi I'm Waiting review (music street journal)"

I’m Waiting (Single)
Review by Gary Hill

This is just one song, so we’ll cut out the overall review here, except to say that Frank Palangi is an artist from New York state and this track will be part of an EP to be released in 2011.
Track by Track Review
I’m Waiting

The song shows a high level of musical maturity and complexity, while still living in the territory of more modern hard rock. The opening segment has hints of progressive rock and overall, I’d think of this like a more prog rock oriented version of Godsmack. It’s a real stomper and shows a lot of potential for greatness in the upcoming EP. I’d say to expect great things from Palangi. - Music Street Journal

"Frank Palangi: So Close"

Its going to sound much like I’m repeating a past blog from this week, but only the first part. Frank Palangi is a solo artist from Upstate New York and as it states in his submission email he is very hardworking and trying to get his name out there. A recommendation on him comes from our friend Jason Saulnier over at Good Time Metal Oldies so we made sure to give it a listen.

The part that sounds repetitive from earlier this week is this dude sounds in voice like Sully Erna of Godsmack. If this is his natural voice then its great and one hell of a coincidence. Where things are very different for us at We Love Metal is Frank gets play on Christian Rock Stations. Considering we covered “Cradle of Filth” yesterday this is quite a jump for all of us involved. Frank says he doesn’t want to be labelled and his music is based to just get a message out there. I have no issue looking past Religious overtones because its about the music for me, but I hope others can do the same because it really is solid Hard Rock.

At the bottom of this blog you will find the new song “I’m Waiting” and if you head over to his myspace you can listen to all of his current music including my favorite “Feeling Alive.” Its a very hard rock edge with solid guitar work.

Frank headed down to Nashville and started recording his new EP with the Grammy nominated band “Day of Fire.” I think this is going to be the true test for Frank. Two things that concern me. 1. Getting out of New York so people can see him and 2. Having the quality of the band High on Fire is hard to reproduce with a bunch of local guys on a county fair stage. Frank is going to have to get some solid guys behind him that have the talent and passion that he does or some really good expensive hired hands.

The potential is immense and its going to be easier to talk about him once we hear the EP in full and see the direction of the new material. Frank also tends not to play bars because he feels people are often to drunk to enjoy the music properly. My message to that is don’t worry about that, even if you touch one person in the crowd and that person happens to be a big label it will all be worth it. Play every show, at any time, and let the world hear your music. I heard it and liked it. Thank you. - WeLoveMetal

"We Like It So There! interview"

Interview with Jen Andujar and Frank Palangi

Hello Frank. Thanks for agreeing to this interview.
Who are your biggest musical influences?

Metallica
Creed
Daughtry
Godsmack
Three Days Grace
Day of Fire
Def Leppard
Johnny Cash

Explain your song writing process.

As a writer, I focus on creating songs people will want to be mainstream and modern. Nostalgia, I believe, is also an important facet of songwriting. Music should be entertainment. The more you listen, the more you want. It's all about revisiting songs and remembering when you heard them in a certain time of your life almost like a photo album.

Describe your dream tour.

Ummm... Dream Tour? Would be to do a national tour across the country with bands like Daughtry, Creed, Metallica, and Three Days Grace.

You perform covers as well as originals at your shows. Which cover is your favorite to perform? Which original?

I like Ring of Fire from Johnny Cash. I also like 867-5309 from Tommy Tutone. Original would be "It's All Right"

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you on stage?

Well, at a high school talent show I was playing my 2nd song on electric guitar and I break a string. So I quickly switch guitars and then I plug in and start to play again. I go to sing through the mic and it's turned off... One sec later the sound guy comes over and says "come on, come on" grabs my amp and I go "What?" and he says "Get your s*** off the stage." He then dragged my amp off stage, and I had no mic so I couldn't say anything. So I waved to the audience and faded with the curtain. At the time I was in like 9th grade and my Dad had a fit about what the sound guy did. He said he was sorry about a year later... lol

What was your proudest moment so far?

A proud moment for me was at a small resort gig where there was a ski crew staying there. It was a packed house and full of people. I was amazed that when I was playing I got tipped $90 and sold a bunch of CD's. Then they wanted me to come down stairs to dance (which I worked for that DJ crew anyway, they didn't know it..lol) People were coming up to me and asking me what's in store the future... American Idol.. record deal? It was cool to see that from a group of tourists.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years I see a record deal, touring on the road, and working with other artists on songs.

If you could be anything other than a musician-what would you be?

I would be an actor/film maker. That is my 2nd passion in life.

What's one random fact that not many people know about you?

Random fact: I don't have a cell phone... lol

Who is your celebrity crush?

I like Jen Love Hewitt... lol

What is your favorite song(s) of all time?

I like Ride into the Sun- Def Leppard, Enter Sandman- Metallica, Dr. Feelgood-Motley

Any last thoughts before we wrap this interview up?

I'm going back down to Nashville, TN this month to finish my EP record and work with my producer Rogers Masson and rock band "Day of Fire" once again. It's going to rock! I'm Waiting is also out as a single for download!

RECENT NEWS:
(Stepping Into The Mainstream) Frank Palangi EP

A solo artist from Upstate, NY ranging from acoustic rock to heavier flavors, takes the big step into mainstream music.

In June of 2010, Frank received the chance to work with veteran producer Rogers Masson in Nashville, TN. Works which include The Mavericks, Day of Fire, and mixing for artists like Marlyn Manson. The rock band Day of Fire, (former lead singer of Full Devil Jacket, Josh Brown) and toured with bands such as Daughtry and Non Point, has stepped in and gave Frank "the baddest rhythm section in the land" says producer Masson. With putting out mainstream CD's under different major labels, they are no stranger to the way the music business works.

Up until this point, Frank has produced, recorded and performed 2 independent solo albums and one promo EP at his home studio working non-stop to get the word out. This experience going to Nashville, TN was a real treat for Frank from the 1st time flying, to recording and working with real professionals. " I had some great vocal advice from Josh Brown and support from the band." Frank said. " The recording went great and Rogers was awesome to work with. I only could image in my head what the outcome come be like for my tracks, and it raised the bar for me. As a producer, Rogers is focused, open-minded, and knowledgeable"

Rogers and Frank both are gearing to have the tracks listened to A&R reps, tour managers, publishing, and radio. 2 more songs are going to be recorded in the near future to finish the EP record. I'm Waiting, It's All Right, and Rememberance have all ready been completed. The styles of the tracks are rock based genre but "As putting myself in the rock genre, I believe you can hit all different sides and not always just be a straight forward rock artist" says Frank. "I have a lot of main influences in my style, and incorporate some of that with a mesh of things. With this EP release as my self titled, I feal like it's my first professional piece of work with a lot heart and taken seriously because this is a career is what I want to do for the rest of my life."

Throughout Frank’s whole music career he has worked non-stop for something to come up. He plays heavily in the local area, promotes on local radio stations from interviews to songs being played, promotes on-line and is always reaching out there for more exposure. ” I can’t thank Day of Fire (Josh Brown, Chris Pangallo, Joe Pangallo, Zach Simms) and Rogers Masson enough for the chance they have givin me and the faith they have believing in my talent.”

"Local rocker hopes to make it big"

Alyssa Jung 08/05/10

Frank Palangi is only 22 but he knows exactly what he wants to do with his life—he wants to be a rockstar.

The Queensbury man has big dreams of rocking out on the same stage some of his influences like Metallica, Creed, Daughtry, Godsmack, Three Days Grace and Johnny Cash, have conquered.

“I try to get a gig every weekend or every other weekend. I’ve definitely picked up a lot since I first started; grown as an artist and performer,” said Palangi. “It’s the fascination of I love guitar and singing … the will to express yourself and have fun and making something of your own that you’re proud of is [why I love music].”

This past June, Palangi took a major step in making his rockstar dreams a reality when he worked with producer Rogers Masson in Nashville, Tenn. Masson has mixed for The Mavericks, Marilyn Manson and Day of Fire, a band that has toured with some of the biggest bands currently out there and who has become a sort of mentor to Palangi.

“My goal was to meet Josh Brown, the lead singer of Day of Fire, and give him a demo CD. My dad and I talked to him at a concert and he said he’d listen to my music on the 14-hour ride back to Tennessee. I figured he’d listen but you never know with these top acts,” said Palangi. “Two days later, I got an email from his producer [Masson] and after about two months of emailing and phone calls, we made an agreement for me to come to Nashville. Masson and the band believed in and backed my music.”

Palangi took his cousin to the nation’s country capitol and spent five days in the studio, cranking out three songs that will be released to iTunes, Amazon and other major music outlets in about two weeks. With the release of those tracks will come a full press kit that Masson will sent to A&R reps and other music label big shots.

“The ultimate goal is to get on mainstream radio and try to get out there as an artist for people to take seriously. This is it, this isn’t just a small time production,” said Palangi.

This is Palangi’s first professionally mixed EP and he co-produced it with Masson. His two previous independent solo albums and promo EP were produced and recorded in his home studio. His homegrown attitude toward music started early on, when he first picked up a guitar at 13.

“I took six months of classical lessons but then learned by myself. I do it pretty much by ear and watching people play guitar live,” said Palangi, who also records for other musician hopefuls. “All the music and lyrics I write … my songs deal with subjects, whether it’s something going on with the world.”

His songs, “I’m Waiting,” “It’s All Right” and “Remembrance” are the three set to be released and a 30 second preview of “I’m Waiting” is available on his Myspace page, www.myspace.com/frankpalangirocks. - www.spotlightnews.com

Night of music, coffee

Published: Friday, September 05, 2008

If Creed, Godsmack and Suicidal Tendencies could be smelted into one man, it is Frank Palangi.

The young singer-songwriter from Queensbury has recently released the album "I'm Waiting."

It's a heavy, guitar-driven crash course in "nu metal" on which Palangi has recorded all the tracks himself.

Of course, he also plays well with others, as evidenced by collaborations with local musicians Joe Carroll and Danielle Bardin.

Tonight, Palangi will go acoustic at the Ridge Street Coffee Co. in downtown Glens Falls.

The show should be a stark contrast to the album, which is decisively "plugged" with the exception of tracks like "This Girl" and "Last Wish."

"I'm Waiting" opens up with its title track, a song that reflects influences ages older than the artist himself.

In a press release, Palangi said that he suffers from severe allergies and asthma.

It is clear from his sound that the artist spent the time grounded by his maladies listening to the gods of glam.

"I'm Waiting" is the second effort for the young performer.

His first disc, "Falling Too," dropped in 2006.

In addition to composing all the instrumentation, Palangi also authors the lyrics, records each track and produces the entire package at a home studio.

He is passionate about the craft. Via press release he said, "(Music) is all about revisiting songs and remembering when you heard them in a certain time in your life -- almost like a photo album."

-Falling too
Bella35- I love this album, the music is so innocent and kind hearted that anyone loves rock and even the occastional acoustic will love this album.

-I'm Waiting
Songs44K- I stumbled upon this artist while searching for someone else. I bought his 1st album, and although I liked it, I thought the songs didn't really fit with each other. A little too much variety, or variety of the wrong kind, or something.
On his second album, the songs were more consistent with each other. His has gone with a heavy metal sound, and the IMO has done a pretty good job. The first song I'm Waiting, delivers a sound that is pretty close to what Godsmack would produce. I also enjoyed New Born a lot, because it has something of a stop and go quality that isn't in the other songs. It's still a little metal-ish song, but provides variety in a good way. I think those are the 2 best songs on the album and would give 5 stars for those 2 songs. I also like Feeling Alive and Don't Cry quite a bit. A few of the remaining songs aren't as memorable, but they are still a little better than the average 3 star song. maybe a 3.5.
All in all, a strong collection of songs. I hope he builds enough of a following that we'll hear some more albums from him in the future.

Artist of the Month Contest Song Review- Feeling Alive

The guitar riffs were so hot i almost burst into flames. He really came out blazing and full of life just like he was saying in his yrics. This was just wonderful. It was so uplifting and full of spirit. i can't say much more than...eleven

Artist of the Month Contest Song Review- Silly Fool

It's a good song. I hink it just needs to be cleaned up a little. more. The voice almost has a "metal screaming" sound to it. I think if it was sung a little softer than that.. more clearer, it would be perfect. Great job.

Artist of the Month Contest Song Review- This Girl

Guitar sounds good...I like the harmony vocal, sounds like a female, good mix, it may be a false part though...anyway it sounds good...I would like to hear this track with some bass..I think there might even be one, but its really low....Has a very nice arrangement...I could hear this on the radio...Very catchy and easy to listen too...

Artist of the Month Contest Song Review- Gramp's song

Im not a fan of an acoustic electric guitar, It would sound better with a mic'ed acoustic....But its not bad or anything...I think this is like a tribute to his grandfather, which I can definetly feel, But I would definetly give it a little bit more substance..I think I could say a whole lot more about my Grandfather...Music is nice, but the mix could use some remixing.....I would definetly try and add another verse and and Maybe even a bridge...Good Luck in the future

Artist of the Month Contest Song Review-Gramp's song

I really liked the music and the production on this song and the musicianship was great..I liked the lyrics but felt like something was left out or not complete..I think better wording would help in the delivery of the vocal.

Song Review- Just Relax

the voice is so cheesy, it sounds like Cher in a bad way but lyrics arent that bad, i like some of the breakdowns, the band isnt half bad but the lead singer is horrible.

Artist of the Month Contest Song Review

Good tune, great chorus. I would like to hear maybe a little more variation in the melody line of the verses, though... I'm not saying go progressive jazz with it, - A&R Select/Others

"Local rocker heads to Tennessee to work with big time Producer"

When I met Frank Palangi almost 2 years ago, he was a teen with a dream of making it big time. A few months ago I ran into Frank at a show where one of his favorite band was playing. Frank handed Day Of Fire vocalist his 2 song CD. Little did Frank know that his CD would wind up in the hands of Grammy nominated producer/engineer Rogers Mason , who has worked with artists such as Day of Fire, The Mavericks and Marilyn Manson. Frank received a phone call from Mason and will soon be in the studio with Mason and Day of Fire as his backing band. Frank Palangi will be on this weeks edition Capital Underground Radio starting Sunday May May 23 at noon with the show running until Sunday May 30 Noon. Hear more about this dream come true by logging on to http://www.capitalundergroundradio.com . Below is the official press release on Palangis road trip to Tennessee.

Upstate, NY Solo artist Frank Palangi, whose music ranges from acoustic rock to heavier flavors is working on the next step up in his long term career!

Frank is headed in to the studio June 18th with veteran record producer Rogers Masson. The sessions will be held in Nashville, TN. Rogers has secured the Grammy nominated rock band Day of Fire to back Frank up in the studio. Rogers says, “This is the baddest rhythm section in the land, and along with the vocal guidance of singer Josh Brown, Frank’s songs are going to turn out amazing.” Look for the singles to be released late summer and early fall.

Working as a solo artist who performs all his own instrumentation has been a blessing for him, Palangi said. He suffers from severe allergies and asthma and his ability to write and perform all his own music and to record it in his own home studio has greatly lessened the effects of what could otherwise have been considerable hardships for a musician.

His constant playing (and constant writing and recording, too) are signs of his passion for music something he believes is required for someone to be truly accomplished as a musical artist. If you want to play music, it must be a passion and a drive. Practice is the key to getting better.

"Local Solo Artist heads off to Nashville to record for the big time!"

June 16, 2010 at 11:12 am by frankpalangi

Upstate, NY Solo artist Frank Palangi, whose music ranges from acoustic rock to heavier flavors is heading for the dream in Nashville to record his new singles with veteran record producer Rogers Masson. Rogers has secured the Grammy nominated rock band Day of Fire to back Frank up in the studio.

“Believe it or not, this is my first time flying anywhere. ” Frank says. This journey took 3 months in the making to obtain a chance must others wait for in their careers for a long time. He has 2 solo independent albums out plus a promo EP called “Singles”. He writes and records all of his own music and does all instrumentation in his home studio.

Frank is very excited and tells the story. “This all came about when I went to a local club, Northern Lights in Clifton Park. Day of Fire, which is one my influences, was playing a show and I figured, hey maybe I can give them one my CD’s and see what happens. So, before the singer went on stage, I talked to Josh for a bit, and then after the band did their set, I talked some more. My dad was with me at the time, we to all the rock shows together, and we gave Josh 2 CD’s. He says, “I’ve got a 14 hour drive home to TN, I’m going to listen to this.” 2 days past, and I’m sitting a home. I picked up their latest CD “Losing All” and looked to see who their producer was just for fun. I looked him up on the internet. Before you know it, I got an email from Rogers Masson and he says he heard good things about the tracks from Josh and was really interested in hearing more. Then throughout a course of 2 months we emailed and called each other. We talked about a plan for some tracks and maybe a future album. I signed a contract and then it’s history.”

Throughout Frank’s hole music career he has worked non-stop for something to come up. He plays heavily in the local area, promotes on local radio stations from interviews to songs being played, promotes online and is always reaching out there for more exposure. ” I can’t thank Day of Fire and Rogers enough for the chance they have givin me and the faith they have believing in my talent.”

He leaves June 17th for Nashville, TN to record in the big time Sound Stage Studios. Look for the singles to be released late summer and early fall.
