This awards show was created to promote the best independent music artists and entertain the people of Southern California with an exciting awards show to add to their calendars.
On Friday, February 10th, 2012 (during Grammy's week) the All Indie Music Awards will take the stage at the famous Key Club located on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA. Artists will have a chance to submit their music videos and songs for nomination and a chance to win an award in a wide array of music categories.
You will also have a chance to fill in one of seven available live spots to show off their talent and play in front of hundreds of celebrities and guests from all over the world.
The award show will not only be presented live, it will also be streamed online for viewers all over the world to see and be presented in front of hundreds of people from all ages. Each category winner will receive a beautifully designed and personalized engraved statuette for the artist to take home and display at home or at their studio.
In addition, one lucky winner will take home the coveted, "Alan Freed Award". During the 1950s, Alan Freed became one of the founding pioneers of independent music and helped pave the way for future artists. To be nominated for the "Alan Freed Award", candidates must have demonstrated outstanding achievement, have a distinguished body of work, and has made a recognizable contribution in the field of independent music and/or broadcasting field. Of the final nominee's, we will select the best artist and invite them to perform live at the awards show event.
Additional Notes: You will be allowed to submit one or two mp3's of your music and a music video (live, preferably). The live performance video will help us determine who will be invited to play live in Los Angeles. If you are selected, but cannot attend, the award(s) will be mailed to you and you may be asked to pre-record your acceptance speech. You may also have someone accept the award(s) on your behalf if you cannot attend.
Terms and Conditions
Key Club and All Indie Music Awards works in full cooperation with the City of West Hollywood and law enforcement.
Musicians shall be responsible for any damage incurred by Key Club arising out of the Event unless caused by the negligence of Key Club.
Pursuant to All Indie Music Awards policy and California
Law, Client will not discriminate, of any kind, against any person because of the persons race, religion, gender, disability or medical
If musicians are invited to perform and you cannot attend, we will require a minimum of 10 days prior to the event, so we may fill in your spot with an available award nominee.
Other details about unloading equipment, sound check, and performance times will be discussed once you are selected.
The All Indie Music Awards is an annual event.
Submissions will be collected from artists/bands.
Winners will be determined by a combination of votes and judging
Public voting polls will be open October 1, 2011 and will close on January 22, 2012 at midnight.
From January 22, 2012 until January 31, 2012, the judging committee will begin the process of elimination and predetermining the final 5 award nominees for each category.
Live performance guidelines:
Six nominees will be selected to perform at the All Indie Music Awards stage on February 10, 2012.
Beginning October 1, 2011, nominees will be asked if they are available to attend the award show at Key Club in Hollywood, CA.
In order to qualify for one of the six stage performances, submitters are required to submit at least one live performance video to allow judges to determine who will be invited for the final stage show. Submitters are not required to be a top 5 category finalist to be eligible to be considered to perform.
Judging is graded based on, but not limited to:
Song Element Intro, verse, chorus, bridge, middle, collision, solo
Production Quality grading of sound quality, engineering, mixing, and editing
Arrangement contrast, song dynamic, structure, development, composition, tempo, balance, and melody
Musical Performance, vocal and musical delivery, harmony, rhythm, lyrics, technique, originality, and listenability

Eligibility for Album of the Year, more than one song must be submitted with one link to the entire album.
Only full-length songs are accepted
Alan Freed Award (Lifetime Achievement):
To be nominated for the "Alan Freed Award", candidates must have demonstrated outstanding achievement throughout his/her life, have a distinguished body of work, and has made a recognizable creative contribution in the field of independent music, journalism, or broadcasting field. To qualify for the Alan Freed Award, nominate who you think deserves this award by emailing the AIMusicAwards Committee with your reasons why at email@example.com.
Artist of the Year:
Similar to the Alan Freed Award, AOTY award is not based on life achievements, but for more recent accomplishments. Artists/bands must have demonstrated great creative accomplishment within the independent community, including but not limited to: professional or self-produced music, exceptional songwriting ability, self-management, has had their music licensed in television or film, have an understanding of marketing and public relations skills by reaching out to his/her fans on a regular basis, hosting online web shows, performing at frequent charity events and benefits, giving away free music, taking photos with fans, winning multiple music contests, attending various workshops, networking, songwriting forums or organizations, etc. Generally, artists/bands must have contributed to the music community in order to stand out. Not all of these examples listed are required and every individual activity is different and taken into consideration.
