Summary

Digital Heroine presents The Heroin Chic Music Series, the premier electro/indie/rock monthly in Williamsburg Brooklyn which features DJ Sean Allen Fenn and Mike Dextro along with other live guests. The event is held every first Thursday at Galapagos on 70 N 6th Street in Williamsburg Brooklyn.

Digital Heroine Inc., the label created by Sean Allen Fenn, emerged as the vehicle for a unique breed of DIY music to be heard, starting with the debut EP, The Gutters of Heaven, by Sean Allen Fenn and the Maids of Dishonor.

This mini-album filled the void of sultry, passionate electronic indie rock in the San Francisco scene. Forging ahead, Sean moved to New York and started Heroine Chic, a monthly party to promote The Digital Heroine music label. Heroine Chic exists to make Williamsburg dance and to expose the Digital Heroine sound. The most basic function of the arts is to be relevant in the advancement of society.

Artists are booked 2 months in advance. Galapagos has a full bar, back-line, new sound-system, and large stage. The only genres accepted are indie rock and the like. Electronic rock bands and dance-rock bands will be given preference. Headlining bands must have a local draw, as compensation is determined by the number of fans each band draws (usually 30% of the cover). Bands who are very well known can negotiate a guarantee. Typical set length is 30 to 45 minutes. The backline includes a drum kit (without cymbals), a bass amp and guitar amp. The sound guys are excellent!

Galapagos does not accept government grants or public funding of any kind. They believe that if the work they present is strong, communicative, and effective then it will survive.
