"Starting out in Northern Ireland it was extremely tough to get a band out," explains vocalist and guitarist John Dinsmore. "There just weren't a lot of rehearsal rooms or recording studios or anything like that.

Getting a band started is hard enough without political troubles. Then again, maybe those early obstacles gave the Beat Poets their work ethic. Relentless touring, constant writing, and a dedication to the quality of their music has led to numerous awards, considerable press attention and, recently, the interest from labels they really want. And the Northern Ireland music scene? That's improved, too.

"Now the scene here is flourishing, and we're proud to have been part of its development."
