"You can tell when everybody in the audience is into it," Matt Truman says. "You can tell that you're reaching everyone from the front to the back. That's why we do it. That's better than selling a t-shirt, or whatever."

Everybody knows being an indie musician can be hard. But Matt Truman doesn't want to hear about it. Music is his passion, and that's all he needs to know. Sure, the money isn't great. Sure, life on the road can be hard, like the time someone broke into their van at NXNE and stole their guitars. But you know what? Doesn't matter.

"I would totally hate to be on some label where they're like, 'THAT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE A SINGLE--RAHHRRR!'"
