Indy's Irish Fest is the largest cultural event every year in Indianapolis. It is held at Military Park, a 14-acre site located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. The 2008 Indy's Irish Festival will be held September 19 – 21, and consistently draws over 30,000 attendees. This three day outdoor celebration has been bringing the best in Irish music, food and culture to Indiana since 1995.
The festival showcases a headline band each night. Each of the five stages at the festival brings the fans music that ranges from pure Irish traditional to Celtic rock. Recent headline performers include Seven Nations, Glengarry Bhoys, Makem & Spain Brothers, The Fenians, Gaelic Storm, The Prodigals, Off Kilter, Searson, Gael Sli, Gael Force, Derek Warfield, The Dady Brothers, Brigid's Cross and The Kells.
Indy’s Irish Fest is now accepting submissions from Sonicbids artists for general performance consideration. Compensation is based on factors that include talent level, familiarity in the outside markets, and number of performances over the weekend. They normally provide hotel accommodations but travel costs are to be considered part of the negotiated fee.
