JanSport® has teamed up with the Forecastle Festival to give you a chance to share the stage with some of the best musicians out there with a performance slot at Forecastle 2009. Each year, thousands of fans and dozens of key music industry reps attend Forecastle, the largest gathering of musicians, artists and environmentalists in the midwest.

Previous Forecastle performers include Band of Horses, Girl Talk, De La Soul, Sleater-Kinney, VHS or Beta and Apples in Stereo, amongst many others.

How it Works

A team of judges will review all of the submissions received and announce 8 finalists. All 8 finalists will receive an incredible JanSport® prize package worth approximately $500 per band member. Judging criteria is outlined in the official contest rules.

The winner will be announced at the "Halfway to Forecastle" concert in January 2009 in Louisville, Kentucky. The selected artist will receive up to $5,000 towards any lodging and costs associated with the travel to Forecastle 2009.
