Bio
Laura Busey is a Modern Folk Singer-Songwriter. She was born in Martinsburg, WV and raised in the small town of Hedgesville, WV. She now resides in Yellow Spring, WV which she refers to as her true home.
From the age of four, Laura was writing songs and performing for her family. She first learned to harmonize in church by listening to and singing with the churchs guitar and piano players. Laura quotes those two ladies as two of my biggest musical influences. As Laura grew up, she found that she loved everything from bluegrass to hard rock. Her musical style is a combination of so many different types of music that it is difficult to place her music in a specific category. Laura states that as a student of music she does not discriminate.
She is drawn to music that is truly expressive of life and feelings. As an artist, Laura writes and sings music that grips people. Every piece of music that Laura writes is reflective of her life and the people in it.
When asked for a quote on music, Laura says, Music is one of the most important parts of my life. Music is more of a feeling than a sound to me.
