"New Music: Low Pros – Take You There"

The Low Pros, a Toronto group that consists of Jae Fresh and Vibes make it on WBLK’s Unsigned Hype. Unsigned Hype showcases unheard of music from Southern Ontario and Western New York artists, who are not signed and then are voted on by music listeners. I must say that these guys aren’t that bad. I know that they are young, so given a few years from now, and proper management, they could make something big out of themselves.

Bio

Jae Fresh was born in Toronto, Canada on June 20th 1989. At a young age, he developed a love for music, learning to play the piano at age three; he had begun his musical journey. At age 7, he received a basic production computer program as a Christmas gift from his mother, in which he quickly mastered, reproducing some of his favorite songs at the time. In grade six, Jae played the trumpet and became the lead trumpet player in many of his middle school concerts. Any instrument he picked up, he challenged himself to play. In high school, the trumpet, the drums as well as the saxophone were mastered. In an after school program, he recorded and helped produce his first song called “What If.” It was in Grade 10 that Jae met Vibes, they started recording songs in his basement and the Low Pros were born. Together they performed at shows all around Toronto, with the drive to keep expanding their musical arsenal. Today, Jae produces many of the tracks that keep the Low Pros on top of their game. Music has played a huge part in Jae’s life and he will continue to produce and reach out into the music industry.

Born on Dec, 23 1989 in Toronto Canada, Shaun Mohammed, also known as Vibes, began his career in music as an avid fan. Throughout his childhood, Vibes was always in love with hip-hop listening to such artists as Tupac and groups like The Wu-Tang Clan. At this time, Vibes would often watch his older sister, an M.C at the time, freestyle with other artist in their neighborhood and even at home in their own basement. It was at that moment, he realized he wanted to express himself through music and lyrics and he began writing rhymes. In grade 5, Vibes was introduced to the Alto Saxophone in which he began playing and further excelled at. In grade 9, Vibes joined the Runnymede band and it was there he met group member Jae-Fresh. They quickly became friends through their shared passion for music, and began creating music of their own. Without access to a million dollar studio, they would have to settle for a desktop computer and a ten dollar mic to create beats and record vocals. In grade 10, they officially decided to start a group and L.P was born. The equipment has since been upgraded and studios have turned into second homes. Since the formation of the group, the Low Pros have performed at numerous events in Toronto and have now expanded to Ottawa. Vibes along with Jae-Fresh have began to broaden their talents and keep their music diverse by mixing their brand of hip-hop with other genres of music, such as House, Rock, Electro and Jazz. Vibes will always be in love with hip-hop and as co-member Jae-Fresh continues to inspire him his with world class production, the group will continue to rock the crowds and touch the souls of their listeners.
