Opening for Assembly of Dust was Luba Dvorak. Luba in black attire and armed with an acoustic guitar reminded us of a Dylan-Forbert-Springsteen-Cash combo with his earthy vocal style and enticing storytelling. Dvorak fronted an able group of players through an engaging nine song set. Luba's music was a blend of country and rock with the pedal steel playing a prominent role in his songs.
Dvorak was personable with some chat between catchy numbers that featured colorful jamming. Luba and his band finished with "San Diego" - a tune that blended sultry sounds with country twangs as the tale unfolded. Dvorak's latest CD is titled Under The Radar but he might be flying higher soon on the strength of his charisma and talent. - Soundpress

LUBA DVORAK
LUBA DVORAK (pronounced: Dvor-zhack) in black attire and armed with an acoustic guitar has been called a Dylan-Forbert-Springsteen-Cash combo with his earthy vocal style and enticing storytelling.
Luba’s new release “Starr Street Blues” is a six song collective giving an introspective road map of the modern day troubadour, touching on social and personal issues along with bringing to life his unique brand of New York Swaggerin’ Country Fried Rock and Roll.
The first single "What's It All Worth" was featured on the Apr/May 2012 Relix magazine sampler cd along with a "On The Verge" article in the same issue.
“Starr Street Blues” is a six song EP recorded in one day live off the floor at Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn New York. The album features Larry Oakes (Bad Company/Foreigner, Derek Truck) on piano, Tony Tino (Gavin Degraw/ Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes) on Bass, Mark Greenberg (Dickey Betts/Leroy Parnell/Rescue Me TV series) on drums, Benny Landa (Grahm Nash, Joe Vitale) on guitar and Greg McMullen (Chis Whitley/Trixie Whitley) on pedal Steel.
Born in a small town called Brno in what was then called Czechoslovakia, Luba and his brother were taken by their parents on vacation to what was then called Yugoslavia. What they didn't mention to anyone was that they weren't coming back. After a year and a half of bouncing around Europe they finally settled in Vancouver, Canada.
The son of a blacksmith and well-respected musician is not far down the family tree from world renowned composer Antonín Dvorák, Luba started playing guitar at age twelve and never looked back.
After releasing two solo albums and touring the US and Europe multiple times, Mr.Dvorak relocated to New York City in 2004 taking his music to the next level. Collaborating with his new band "the Banned" they recorded a collection of songs entitled “Under the Radar”. The Album is a collection of ten songs cut live off the floor at Pilot Studios in New York City with Producer Allan Rodger.
Since then “the Banned” has exploded with sound and talent.
