Bio

Lucas is no stranger to the music industry, drumming up a 10 year head start well beyond his 21 years. At the age of 11, Lucas's family began making music a way of life. At the age of 12 he was launched on tours across the country in a full time family band entitled "Simple Grace" and by the time he was 19 he'd seen 49 states as well as Mexico and Canada and sold over 7000 copies of his solo projects and played to over a quarter of a million people. 2 years have not slowed this artists schedule, but rather pushed it in the opposite direction, with 180 shows a year to mark his calender, along with a full production CD that was released in August of 2009. In a few short months the CD sold over 500 copies with no paid advertising, just a simple presentation at live shows.

"There are many who love music...and some who live it" For Lucas Hitch, this may well be the best way to describe him. Raised in a quiet midwest district, Lucas has made a statement far louder than his surroundings might demand. "Music is more than just my expression" explains Lucas "It's my way of presenting a fresh and pure outlook to a generation starving for something real". From the catchy, tasteful chord progressions of "Before this all began" to the sober, yet gripping piano ballad of "Lonely Drive home", Lucas demonstrates his ability to not only write thought provoking lyrics, but also to allow the music to create the emotion behind the message. That message, is not one of despair or compromise, but a message written through the lens of a 21 year old confronted with the same issues of today's generation, but stepping up to a positive calling on his life, and encouraging others to do the same. "My music is brutally honest" conveys Lucas, "I feel it's important to be transparent to an audience in order for them to relate to my music. I wrestle with God at times, but in every situation I've found hope and not just a way out, but a way up. I feel that's what's presented in my music" One listen to Lucas Hitch and you'll discover that his music might not only be what this culture is looking for...but it's what it needs.

By making a tour bus a frequent home away from home for over 10 years, Lucas has been able to experience a front row take on the culture and what it's looking for from the music business. Armed with a comfortable stage presence, a reputably established name and an accurate reality of life on the road, Lucas was ready to approach the music industry with head start well beyond his years. "I think the most encouraging part of my life as a singer, are the testimonies after a show. I've had kids wrestling with suicide tell me my show...my influence is why they didn't go through with the suicide. To think that music...something I can't help but do, is able to have that kind of impact makes any effort of mine worth it!". Look for Lucas to begin to make his mark on the music industry in the near future!
