"Illinois Entertainer Album Review"

Lucrezio’s Storybook offers a striking convergence of buzzing crackle and glistening pop solitude. Songs like “Take Me Away” and “Tragedy,” which primarily feature Jennifer Lucrezio’s voice and graceful piano, will immediately resonate with Tori Amos’ fans. For our money, however, the more robust tracks have more staying power. “Every Word” is a super-charged rocker with thick, crashing guitars. “Dreamer” is a passionate, emotive ballad, as distant guitar washes over meditative piano and Lucrezio’s soaring vocals, before swelling into epic catharsis. ""...people might care about music again." Chicago Television Producer, Todd Hoffman"

Mainstream radio is dull and shallow and is turning us into zombies. If a few bands like this were getting some spins, [then] before you know it, people might care about music again. - Todd [Flabby] Hoffman

""Their sound together is joyous..." - Michael Teach of Chicago Acoustic Underground"

Chicago Acoustic Underground has been following the growth of Lucrezio and we have had them on the show twice. Jennifer and Jordan are both wonderful musicians and genuinely nice people. Their sound together is joyous and you can feel the love they share. Go see them live, I guarantee that you will have a great big smile on your face on the way home. - Michael Teach

""While listening you'll get the feeling that you could become good friends... " | ALBUM REVIEW"

Lucrezio blends sincere sophisticated pop & rock throughout their new album Storybook. Don't write off the band as just another pretty voice. Singer Jennifer Lucrezio brings dramatic power to the songs and bandmates Jordan Bumgarner and Dave Fowler fill in passionately. Jennifer's piano complements her voice wonderfully where appropriate but my favorite tracks are full of steady drum beats and ringing guitars.

Music fans that enjoy well-written lyrics will like Storybook as will those that like a variety of intimate arrangements and those with a little more bite. The songs are mostly straight-forward, telling a story in each. The separate parts come together as a delightful whole. While listening you'll get the feeling that you could become good friends with these musicians and might even picture them playing a set for you in your living room. Storybook is heavy on independence and Do-It-Yourself which in the end equals a great listen and a band that just might be going places. - Theft Liable to Prosecution

Bio

Innovative.  Vigorous.  Sincere.  LUCREZIO offers a presence that, on the stage, is unforgettably stimulating with a lyrical passion that is emotionally engaging, and off stage, humanly genuine.

Cultivated by the powerful vocals and piano undertones of Jennifer Lucrezio, and the alluring lead lines of guitarist, Jordan Bumgarner, LUCREZIO pursues music as more than an art form, but as a way to convey truth. Their acoustic performances blend soul, simplicity, and rawness that captivate both ear and mind. Home to the Chicago-land area, The formation of LUCREZIO took place when Jennifer moved her small-town, east coat aspirations to Lake Michigans bright city lights, and found talented guitarist, Jordan, taking him to be not only her bandmate, but adoring husband.  Together they produce a sound that captivates the listening ear, while sharing the depths of their own personal stories.

Taking to heart the independent pursuit of DIY artistry in this ever-evolving industry, Lucrezio released their first full-length album, Storybook, in 2011; A project not only musically driving but lyrically piercing. Emoting not just a feeling of escape, but a movement of time. Storybook Acoustic, released in 2012, sparked new life into previously recorded songs by stripping them down to their essentials, using only guitar, piano, voice, and cello. This artists ability to create a moment was brought to it's full potential, engaging the audience with its humanness, making this band unforgettable.

Having toured thru 29 states in only a matter of months, it seems their efforts as independent artists, combined with a desire to give music the depth it is due, have not gone unnoticed, given words such as: Mainstream radio is dull and shallow and is turning us into zombies. If a few bands like this were getting some spins, [then] before you know it, people might care about music again. (Todd Hoffman, Chicago Television Producer)  Their sound together is joyous and you can feel the love they share. With a new album now on the horizon, LUCREZIOs focused pursuit in the ever changing world of independent music is this:  If when we play the heart of the individual is touched, if we can speak words that resound with familiarity, if we can make people feel alive and drive them to search for more than what they know, then the music has spoken and we have done what we were born to do."
