March Bandness 2006 will be in its third year of competition. Five music industry professionals will judge contestants on a scale of one to 10, with a 50-point maximum total score from the judges. Additionally, paid patrons of the event will receive a voting ballot, which counts as one point towards the band they choose. The collective score of judges and attendees will be tallied, and the band with the most points wins that round and will compete in the final round against other round winners.

Dates of the event are tentatively scheduled for every Wednesday in March of 2006. Artists will only be considered if they are based within 90 miles of Atlanta. Age limit is 21+ due to alcohol sponsor.

Genres accepted: Rock, pop and all subgenres of those categories except heavy metal, hard rock, rap and hip-hop.
