"MHZ: The Frequency Is Loud And Clear"

"Drawing on influences ranging from Seattle Grunge to Woodstock royalty, Mhz plowed through a fairly heavy 12 song set, long on crunching rhythms and peppered with some fine riffing by Hertz. Cardone handled all but one of the lead vocals, adeptly showing off a fine mix of biting angst and ominously dark singing. Tracks such as "Trouble Child," "Blakk Rayne" and "Shades" are not aiming for pop immortality but they are highly-effective, brooding adventures in punch and counterpunch... Mhz had an uncanny sense of just-right changes of pace for the night... By the time they brought the set to an exclamation point with a medley of "The Protest Song" and Ten Year After's "I Want to Change the World," Mhz had steamed through an impressive night of two-fisted rock full of shadows and ominous overtones."

"Studio News"

"Beneath the Sun Rehearsal & Recording Studios in Hicksville, helmed by producer Mick James, continues to draw the cream of area musicians. In to lay down some tracks... MHZ, the hard rocking blues band featuring top area musicians Vin Greco, Chris Yee, Brent Hertz, Rob Cardone, and Ralphie Prisco, who have a new album to be released quite soon." - Good Times Magazine (April 2016)

"MHZ- Staged Incidents Review"

Rockers & Beer Lovers, today the review is special. We have a band that sent us their material for release, direct from Long Island, USA. And to harmonize we chose a beer that has this mix Brazil / US in production.
This Ceva Da Pura beer is soooo good, a Brown Ale with coffee beans and cocoa. It was produced in partnership with the American brewery Cigar City Brewing, voted the 4th best brewer in the world by Ratebeer.com. With a brown color and foam well present. Its alcohol content is well balanced and you can feel the aroma of coffee well. Delicious!
In the play we have the MHZ (Mega-Hertz) album, Staged Incidents. The band consists of Rob Cardone (guitar and vocals), Brent Hertz (guitar and keyboard), Vin Greco (acoustic guitar, guitar), Chris Yee (bass and cuica) and Ralph Prisco (drums). You can feel the riffs and brass that this band breathes the blues, influenced by the Rolling Stones, but with a more torn and aggressive vocal, it makes you want to jump in several tracks. A very eclectic album, with tracks from Reggae, Funk and even a bit of Punk on the track Blank Card. My favorite is Sunday Bitchin Blues that already opens the record very well, but my favorite is Trouble Child, with a striking harmonica and very classic rock vocal. Staged Incidents is a record that accompanies a good circle of friends enjoying a good Rock Blues and drinking beer; ...I liked, congratulations MHZ.

Bio

"Seattle Grunge to Woodstock Royalty" -John Blenn, Rock Journalist

MHZ is an original hard rock band from Long Island. Shaped by the Long Island Sound, MHZ's sonic styling is in a constant state of flux, heavily influenced by the great music of the late 60's and 70's, but without a doubt drawing from a diverse sonic palette that blends elements of jam, reggae, funk, and punk. MHZ's unique brand of transcendent rock and blues is distinctly crystalized within each gem on their debut album, "Staged Incidents," inspired by rock heroes like Hendrix and his Band of Gypsys, Zeppelin, and Cream, but also Clutch, Sabbath, The Allman Brothers, Ten Years After, Alice in Chains, and on and on. Formed in March 2012 (as MHZ5), the current MHZ lineup features Rob Cardone on lead vocals/guitar, Brent Hertz on lead guitar/harmonica, Vinny Greco on rhythm guitar/vocals, Chris Yee on bass/vocals, and Ralphie Prisco on drums. MHZ just wrapped up production with world class producer, Mick James (Criss Angel, Grim Jack), at Beneath the Sun Recording Studios and released their LP on October 28, 2016. MHZ has opened for national headliners like Lynch Mob and Sponge, and played venues such as Revolution, Mr. Beery's, KJ Farrell's, Blackthorn 51, The Shillelagh Tavern, and many more throughout Long Island and New York.

MHZ is pronounced MEGA-F'N-HERTZ!
