Bio

Michael Wayne's musical experience began when he watched the Beatles on Ed Sullivan...from there, he got a guitar for Christmas and it all began. At the age of 12, he formed his first band, toured with the USO and played other festivals around his home State of Kentucky. Although he never stopped playing guitar, during high school he pretty much practiced in his room trying to hone his skills. He played with various bands, and at the age of 20, was asked to put a house band together for a local club. He formed the band "Heritage", who would later go on tour and share the stage with the likes of the BOX TOPS, THE BUCKINGHAMS, THE PLATTERS, TOMMY JAMES AND THE SHONDELLS, BILLY JOE ROYAL and many more. Their touring took them all over the eastern U.S. and they ended up in Boston, where they signed with the same management company who handled the bands BOSTON AND AEROSMITH. Once Michael realized what a tough business music was, he left the band to go back and graduate from Indiana University. He never gave up music however, playing with many local and regional bands on a part time basis. He finally ended up with a songwirter from Louisville and released their first record. This band, "Romeo Laureano" shared the stage with the NEVILLE BROTHERS, MEN AT WORK, EDDIE MONEY, DR. HOOK AND THE MEDICINE SHOW...AND ON AND ON.... After that, Mike regrouped some of his fomer band members from the '70's to form "DECADES"...one of Louisiville's finest dance bands comprising 8 musicians with a full horn section. He moved to South Alabama in 2006 where he formed a band and played locally for a while....now you'll find him around the Alabama Gulf Coast doing solo's, duo's and trios in local establishments. Deep rooted in the blues, his influences are Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn and other noteworthy blues players. His newest project is his high powered, blues oriented rock band!!! If you get a chance to check them out, don't miss it!
