Mr. R is one of six rappers and two spoken-word artist employed by Rap-A-Gram. He grew up on Long Island, where he worshiped Public Enemy and LL Cool J, still his favorite rapper. Mr. R landed the Rap-A-Gram gig after responding to an ad in the Village Voice. Like most of the performers he is an aspiring rapper. He works as an actor as well he recently appeared in a commercial for Miller Lite-so memorizing the raps is no big deal."I'm used to studying scripts" he says. Many of hip-hop's old-school fans have long complained that the genre's infatuation with violence has worn thin. and Mr. R would agree. "Rap now is so violent" he says. Everyone wants to be harder than the next one and tougher. So that kind of turned me off to Rap until Rap-A-Gram came along. Rap used to be fun, so we are bringing the fun back to hip-hop. - The Washington Post

Robert Rickenbacker--AKA Mr.R will be starring in a new Online Television sitcom called "After Ours" Produced by Hubcity Productions which makes it's debut on September 9th 2006 at 9pm(est). Mr. R is a multi dimensional Rapper, Actor, Songwriter, and Composer, who performs his own original Rap Lyrics. His Rhymes, which are suitable for all audiences contain no profanity or violence just feel good entertaining music. In his role as an actor Mr. R is currently a castmember of an HBO drama pilot due to preview later this year and Mr. R can also be seen on a newly redeveloped sketch comedy TV show called "The Ground Floor", which is also due to air this fall as well. Mr. R wrote and performed the theme song for 'The Ground Floor' and two of his songs will be featured throughout the show. Starting October 2nd 2004 Mr. R will be appearing in the latest production of Jaqueline Hankins Hip Hop Musical Mysteries "Cooking the books". The play will be performed on Saturday and Sundays from 2:30PM to 4:00 at the Playwright Tavern, which is located at 732 Eight Ave in New York City. Mr. R has appeared in a number of Commercials as well the most recent of which was a Miller Lite commercial which received play time in 2004 (see Picture). Among his many projects Mr. R was also formerly a member of the New York based Rapagram Company. As the featured and most solicited artist in the company Mr. R would write and deliver personalized Raps for celebtrities such as Donald Trump and Wyclef. He has also been featured on NBC's the Today Show and WB11 the morning news and he has been covered in a number of major National Newspapers and Magazines. For 2005, Mr.R has been quite busy as well. He appeared in the Cilque Brown produced play called His Hers and Ours playing Rev.Dillard. Mr.R is also doing an animated cartoon series doing several voices. Also Mr.R will soon be shooting a new sitcom called "After Ours" produced by Hub City Productions,and has appeared in several indepenent films. Mr.R has also appeared on two tv shows, Law & Order Trial By Jury(The episode featured Treach from Naughty By Nature) and he was in an episode of Third Watch(The episode featured Wyclef). He also will be appearing in two new films, Freedomland starring Samuel L. Jackson due to be released in January 2006 and Social Grace starring Margaret Cho and directed by BD Wong also to be released in 2006. Mr.R has also released his music on Fresh Tracks Music and is available for sale and download by logging on to www.freshtracksmusic.com.Despite being very busy Mr. R has and will continue to perform as a solo artist separate from his other projects in the U.S. and Overseas.
