"The New School Revolution"

This up and coming band from Charlotte, North Carolina is leading the new school revolution of Southern Jam music. If Jerry Garcia, Warren Haynes, and Eddie Vedder started a band, it would sound something like Near Gravity. Their blues/rock/jazz fusion sound is intertwined with complex jams that can make even the staunchest music snob get into the groove. With a repertoire of original tunes, heady covers, and impromptu jams, Near Gravity ensures that every show is an original experience. Whether you are looking for a live band that can make you shake your ass, a studio album that can become a permanent fixture in your cd changer or iTunes library, or merely a fresh sound, Near Gravity is a band worth checking out.

Bio

With guitar driven melodies and a recipe that includes a blend of progressive rock, blues and jazz, Near Gravity creates a sound as big as the ideas that back them. Founding members Artie Denman (drums) and Jarrod Karl (guitar) have embarked with bassist Brian Jacobs on a quest to blur the lines between musical genres and turn some people on along the way.

With energetic live shows and a genuine connection to the crowd, Near Gravity has become a mainstay in clubs and at festivals throughout the Charlotte area and beyond, sharing the stage with acts as Larry Keel and Natural Bridge, Sol Driven Train and Devon Allman’s Honeytribe. Their ability to transition from delicate jazz melodies to explosive rock anthems has enabled the band to appeal to an enormously diverse fan base. Taking command of the stage, Near Gravity delivers a unique experience each time they play.

Band members list The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers and Jimi Hendrix among influences. Such diversity is showcased at each performance as the band experiments with multiple genres, moods and time signatures. The music branches out in all directions, exploring new territory, yet still retains the traditional flavor that is signature of the band's sound. There's something present in the music that ties it all together; a connection among these three musicians that cannot be explained - it must be heard.
