Summary

MPress Records is a nationally distributed label founded a decade ago by 2005 Independent Music Award Winner Rachael Sage. Production is starting on the third volume in a series of rising artist charity compilation CDs called "New Arrivals". Volume 2 was released this past April to retailers nationwide and raised funds for Artists Against Hunger & Poverty. 100% of proceeds from Vol. 3 will benefit National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), dedicated to "expanding public understanding and prevention of eating disorders and promoting access to quality treatment for those affected...through education, advocacy and research."

New Arrivals: Volume 3 is a compilation project aimed at increasing exposure for exceptional self-released material. As such, artists will receive free marketing to MPress contacts i.e. Radio, Press and Internet, as well as cross-promotion at live events presented by MPress Records, including 6,000+ pieces distributed at various label-attended industry conferences throughout 2008. Wider plans to service the disc to press and college/AAA formats are in the works.

At least 4 of the slots on the CD are reserved for Sonicbids artists. AAA, Singer-Songwriter, Americana, Rock and Pop submissions highly encouraged, but all styles of music are welcome and will be considered. 10 copies will be provided to each selected artist.

MPress Records, which has released seven albums of Sage's keyboard-driven art/pop, has produced numerous showcases and festivals highlighting DIY musicians (i.e. "MPressFests") throughout the country. Artists accepted for this project may be invited to perform at local "CD Release" events throughout the year, which are aimed at promoting the compilation and gaining greater exposure for said artists. Vol. 3 will also include one Bonus Track by a more established artist; prior Bonus Tracks were donated by Jill Sobule and Melissa Ferrick.
