Sonicbids and The John Lennon Songwriting Contest Announce Broad Partnership

John Lennon Songwriting Contest (JLSC) Will Accept Online Submissions through Sonicbids; Sonicbids to Sponsor and Participate in Exclusive Activities on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus

Boston, MA – June 29, 2004 – Sonicbids today announced that it has partnered with the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (JLSC) to be the exclusive third-party online submission platform. The John Lennon Songwriting Contest is an internationally renowned competition that began in 1997 and is open to amateur and professional songwriters who can submit entries in any one of 13 categories. Grand Prize Winners are selected in each category, and the impressive Executive Committee then votes on the Maxell Song of the Year.

Sonicbids' sponsorship will include participation in exclusive activities that will take place on the John Lennon Educational Tour bus, a non-profit, state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia studio, outfitted with traditional musical instruments as well as current technological advances, that travels around the country year round encouraging students to play music, write songs, engineer recording sessions and produce music video projects using the latest audio, video, and live sound equipment.

"We are very excited to sponsor a competition as prestigious as the John Lennon Songwriting Contest," said Panos Panay, Founder & CEO of Sonicbids. "There are so many benefits to working with the John Lennon Songwriting Contest - including giving artists the ability to submit quickly and easily to the Contest online - and providing artists who submit online with exclusive opportunities to get involved with the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus."

Since 1998, the Bus has provided free hands-on programs to hundreds of high schools, colleges, Boys and Girls Clubs, music festivals, concerts, conventions and community organizations. The interior is divided into two separate recording environments. The front studio offers the chance to participate in the creation of multi-media projects. Audio and video components are demonstrated, with visitors assisting in the recording and editing of original material. The back studio is a more traditional set-up for bands and the remote recording of concerts and special events. It features a full range of instruments including guitars, basses, keyboards, and drums. Also on-board is a P.A. system enabling performances on the side of the Bus.

"The partnership is very exciting since Sonicbids gives musicians everywhere the opportunity to have their songs considered by some of the best events and conferences," said Brian Rothschild, Executive Director of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. "Reaching the thousands of high quality musicians who are already Sonicbids members is terrific, and for songwriters and bands who are not yet members, there's now a way to submit to the Lennon Contest that includes a great added value - a 6-month Sonicbids membership."

As part of the sponsorship, bands will be able to submit through Sonicbids for the exclusive opportunity to perform during at least two special Bus stops made specifically for Sonicbids.
