Sonicbids Announces Partnership with Mediaguide to Provide New Service for Independent Artists

Independent artists now have access to the same radio airplay information and reports used by record labels, promoters, publications, radio station PDs & MDs and performing rights organizations

Boston, MA – January 11, 2005 - Sonicbids today announced a partnership with Mediaguide to market and sell Mediaguide’s ground-breaking ArtistMonitor™ airplay reporting service to new and existing Sonicbids members.

Mediaguide monitors airplay on nearly 2,500 radio stations in more than 200 markets and provides analysis of nearly 50 formats, including mainstream commercial formats as well as college, non-commercial and other specialty categories. The ArtistMonitor™ service is the first electronically-monitored airplay information product that was specifically created and priced for the independent and DIY artist community. Through this partnership, Sonicbids will enable musicians to submit their music online to take advantage of this service.

"We are thrilled to partner with Mediaguide to give musicians the ability to submit their music online and use ArtistMonitor™ so they can find out when and where their music is being played," said Panos Panay, Founder & CEO of Sonicbids. "The ability to track radio airplay is extremely beneficial for our members. It helps them understand what markets they are getting the most support in and where they may need to focus more attention."

By signing up for ArtistMonitor™, artists have the ability to view airplay tracking reports by station, market and format for both albums and songs; save custom reports; view song detail to the minute it was played on any monitored station; see profile and contact information for all stations monitored, and their view their playlists across various time periods.

ArtistMonitor™ is using new Sonicbids technology that enables artists to upload specific songs to be tracked rather than be limited to the songs in their Sonicbids EPK™ (Electronic Press Kit). This provides both artists and partners more flexibility and opportunities to work with Mediaguide in projects such as song contests or compilation CDs.

“We are excited to partner with Sonicbids and looking forward to a very mutually beneficial relationship,” said Paul Wright, Vice President, Music Business Development, Mediaguide. "By partnering with Sonicbids, we are offering artists an extremely easy way to submit their music to us, an innovative combination EPK & monitoring package and a discounted ArtistMonitor™ rate for Sonicbids members. We are providing the advantages of ArtistMonitor™ to a new and important growing group of musicians."
