BOSTON, MA – February 15th, 2005 – Sonicbids, the leading online platform enabling musicians to connect with music promoters, and Founder/CEO Panos Panay, have been named to Fast Company Magazine’s annual FAST 50. The FAST 50 recognizes the most innovative companies and executives of 2004 as voted on magazine’s readers. Sonicbids is the only music/entertainment company named to this year’s exclusive list.

“Our selection to the FAST 50 is a testament to passion of the independent music community, the artists that make it happen, and the hard work and dedication of our Sonicbids team,” says Panos Panay, Founder and CEO of Sonicbids. “Combined with tremendous support and commitment from our partners in 2004, we were able to increase the membership of our online community to over 24,000 artists and 2,500 events.”

In 2004, through new partnerships with Zippo, the Virgin College Mega Tour, Arizona Jeans, MIDEM, NACA, the CMJ Music Marathon, and Milwaukee’s Summerfest, Sonicbids saw its revenue and profit increase by an astonishing 350% and 700% respectively.

“We are thrilled with our success in 2004,” says Panay, “but know that we are just at the tip of the iceberg and have no plans of slowing down in 2005.

Sonicbids’ key product is the Electronic Press Kit (EPK™). Created as an alternative to bulky and expensive hard copy press kits, the Sonicbids service allows bands to create their own easy-to-use, web-based graphic interface that contains all of the basic information about a musical act such as music clips, biography, photos, and tour dates. The EPK can either be emailed to a club, contest, or event with the click of a mouse or submitted directly to online promoter accounts through a virtual “Drop Box.” Recently, Sonicbids introduced the Supersonic EPK™ that allows bands to include high-resolution photos, up to 10 minutes of streaming video, a PDF version of their stage plot, and twice as many songs.
