AUTOBIOGRAPHY of OSRap(Omari Simmonds) O.S.Rap was born in New York City, Southside Jamaica, Queens and registered as Omari Simmonds. He was raised in the Bronx by his mother and father who are orginallyJamaican. O.S. father was born and raised in Trenchtown where he went to school and played football for a rastafarian team.There he met O.S.Rap mother and there the two of them became very clost and by 1985 OSRap was born.He grew up in the bronx where he spent mOSRapt of his youth going to school while learning and gaining more knowledge on the streets. OSRap grew up listening to Reggae music, and reggae artistes such as Bob Marley and Berris Hamond. He listened to HipHop music and artstes like REDMAN, Rakim, KRS 1, HitSquad, Onyx, Nas, Ron Dmc, and others. Listening to these hiphop artistes so much from the age of 15 OSRap was inspired to rap and he also had a lot of freinds that could freestyle. OSRap and his friends enjoyed to make beats and rap. “One man would be the beatbox and make the beat with his mouth while the other one raps and this is what we would call freestyling” says O.S.Rap. As Omari matured his lyrical content got nicer and in no time by the age of 17 he sarted doing shows at “block parties” on WhitePlains Road in the Bronx where the crowd respected him. Labels tried to sign him but at the time O.S.Rap wanted to learn more about the music business and was not yet ready to take his career to that level. O.S.Rap thought he Learned “more” about the music so O.S.Rap flew out to Jamaica, Caribbean not for the first time, but to visit his musical family in St.Anns Steertown there he hung around his “brothers and sisters” who kept him very musical and on top of his game. O.S.Rap was thought by some of the best song writers in the music buiness such as Justin Hinds, Doniki Willis, Steady Ranks,and Fredlocks on how to arrange his music. O.S.Rap loves to perform on stage. There are O.S.Rap songs that are doing well on the streets of Canada. So far OSRap has released two records on 45rpm vinyl, one is named “Work Wid It” which features artistes Steady Ranks and Fredlocks. The second song that is releaseg on 45rpm is called “Girl Don't Play With My Mind” which also features OSRap and a singer Doniki Willis. O.S.Rap CD album is due out with his popular “Obama1776”,and Born in the Ghetto. The music video of these songs is well received and his performance of this song. OS looks foward to touring canda in march 2009 with the Justin Hindsfoundation and atistes like Martin X, Stevie face,World sound band, and prophecy along with some of Reggaes Icons on the Obama1776 Tour, and also look for the Obama1776 Video song by O.S. now showing on T.V. What OSRap enjoys the mOSRapt is quietness while reading a book; next being alone with a lady watching a movie.. My favorite sports are basketball, football, and track "n"field. When I have spear time I spend mOSRapt of it thinking about solutions to problems that's taking place in the world and in my life and I make music about it.
