Summary

The Association of Artists for a Better World presents our 5th Annual Concert for Peace, featuring a full day of our finest blues and roots musicians. PICNIC FOR PEACE will be staged from a large outdoor Toronto City-Hall venue, renowned for large audiences and world-class entertainment. More than 6,000 people attended last year’s festival!

The event, to be held on July 29, 2006, will be well promoted to offer wide exposure and publicity to our artists and bands, and as in previous years, we expect lots of media coverage, and great publicity and exposure for the artists. There are four performance slots reserved for Sonicbids artists.

PICNIC FOR PEACE in Toronto is part of a series of worldwide events for peace being held throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. It is a FREE family concert of Blues and Roots Music with underlying themes of peace. The first place submission will have the honor to open for two-time JUNO winner, international blues band Jack de Keyzer.

We can use our voice to change the world, there is magic in our words. The music is the message!

Genres accepted include electric or acoustic - Blues, Roots, Rock, World, Ethnic, Native and more. We will consider solo artists, duets, and bands.

Selected artists will be compensated for their performances. Funds raised from Sonicbids' submissions will be used to pay artists and festival expenses.

The Association of Artists for A Better World is a Registered Non Profit Organization to inform and encourage artists, songwriters, performers and anyone with high public visibility to convey ’Better World' themes and messages in their words through their art form.
