Press

"Alternative Press"

“Band To Watch” - - staff

"Kerrang"

“It's a genuine pleasure to chance upon an album like this -- a collection of songs with real cross-the-board appeal. “ - staff

"The Village Voice"

“... the album's sound traces a more direct route to early-'90s punk, recalling Polvo's spidery guitar lines, Fugazi's caffeinated purism, and the turn-on-a-dime dynamics of Icky Mettle-era Archers of Loaf”. - staff

"The Big Takeover"

"Leaps off the burner with a tight-wound ferocity…this rips." - Jack Rabid

"Transworld Snowboarding"

“Brooklyn-based Pilot to Gunner's first full-length, Games at High Speeds, is a complex combination of layered, up-tempo, guitar-driven rock. The album is dynamic and alive, grabbing hold of you from the very first hand claps of "Every Minute Is A Movie" and building all the way through to the intricate and explosive finale. Its powerful vocals, profound lyrics, and super-tight rhythm section will really blow you away. Pilot to Gunner is ready to rock, so buy it, listen to it, and come see them when they head your way sometime this season. PS - cute band member alert is in full effect." - Tricia Byrnes

"Rough Guides.com"

"Their guitars are relentless and driven, their melodies and arrangements clean and inventive, all infused with an energy so often bypassed by today’s oft-so-drippy guitar bands. If you didn’t catch this collection the first time around, catch it now, and keep your eyes peeled for the hotly anticipated follow up." - staff

"Revolver"

“This album matters so much more than almost everything else out there. Ferociously beautiful.”
- staff

"Cupid Kidnap"

“Make no mistakes: Pilot to Gunner is a rock band. They're loud, and they enjoy playing their asses off. Pilot to Gunner will make you think twice about what the hell you're listening to.” - staff

"Punkinternational.com"

“Pilot to Gunner is a powerful band with tremendous melodic abilities.” - staff

"Pitchfork"

"There's intricate guitar interplay, tense chords, and drumming that's tasteful to the utmost. So there. You allowed to like it now. But chances are that, after several listens, you'll probably like it whether you want to or not." - staff

Bio

Alternative Press calls them a “Band to Watch.” Impact Press says that their last effort, the Games at High Speeds full-length, is a “solid work of exceptional proportions.” Transworld Magazine says they “will blow you away,” and a “cute band member alert is in full effect.” Kerrang! says they’re a “prime slice of DC-inspired rock.” Revolver Magazine says their songs are “ferociously beautiful” and “matter so much more than almost everything else out there.” A girlfriend of one of the members of another of ARRCO’s bands says they are “a nightmare.”

The past year-and-a-half saw them tour the States seven times, and in between they found time to tour Australia, which they firmly believe is one of the best kept secrets around and implore you to get down there before America has completely ruined it.

Whenever on tour, which is always, whatever they can’t fix with duct tape, they fix with alcohol.

Pilot to Gunner’s first meeting with ARRCO ended with CEO Greg Glover and singer Scott Padden throwing punches outside the bar while the press looked on.

Look for a new album in February 2003 with a national tour to follow.

Look for more tours.

Whatever it is you’ve heard about them is probably true.

So hide your everything.
