Bio

Jamaican music and culture were the origins of Mitchell Lewin's (Richilous') development from his earliest stages of life in the neighbourhoods of Kingston.  Mitchie's infatuation with music led to a love of singing, especially a desire to emulate his heroes Michael Jackson and Bob Marley, from a young age.

When Mitchie left Jamaica for Toronto at the age of 10 the next stage of his musical development began. Transplanted from the ghettos of Kingston to the projects of  Toronto, he was exposed to a new world and new types of music that influenced him greatly. Mid-nineties ‘easy-listening’ and ‘Top 40’ radio revealed completely new styles of music for Mitchie to embrace.  By High School, Mitchie became absorbed by rap music and culture (especially 2Pac). Most days you would find him free-styling in the ‘cypher’ at lunch and racing home after school to catch “RapCity” on MuchMusic.

Richilous' (aka Mr. Triple Threat) gifts as a singer, rapper and songwriter allow him to effortlessly create authentic hip-hop, pop, R&B and reggae hits that reverberate with music lovers all over the world and leave them wanting more.  He has received multiple accolades from the Billboard World Song Contest and has been featured on Whatteesays.com, CKLN 88.1FM, twice on Rogers TV and in Industry Magazine.  A few of his more notable appearances have been at Nathan Phillips Square and Queen's Park for the TD Irie Music Fest alongside Gyptian, at Club XS, twice on Rogers TV and in the 'Rated Next' showcase for Toronto Urban Music week alongside Buckshot (from Black Moon) and Juno award winner Kim Davis.

In perfect timing for the summer of 2018, Richilous is hard at work finishing up his next project the "Get Rich" mixtape.
