Bio
A rock band from Nashville, TN comprised of four best friends from childhood (two of whom are brothers) and a new addition that wails on the drums, their energy is as explosive as their songs are melodious.
Pulling from a variety of influences, Slow Motion Centerfold's songs roll along with roaring guitar riffs, disco-dance bass, barroom piano parts, rhythmic drums and keyboard lines equally at home on a Prince or Cure tune.
The band's influences are so broad they are hard to pin down musically. Guitar rock revisionists? Keyboard pop song deconstructionists? SMC can play in a lot of different keys. But whatever you want to call the sound, the band brings an intensity to their live shows, driven largely by front man Alex Hall's high wire antics.
Their debut album titled "Rock The Body Language" was produced by Brian Virtue, whose list of credits include Jane's Addiction, Audioslave, Deftones, and many more.
South Africa's largest rock station 5fm played "Alma Rose" on their new music program and it went #1. The fans reacted and have started a Facebook group to get SMC to South Africa.
The band is touring the U.S. throughout 2011 and releasing an EP with a couple new songs and a couple covers. Here's
