Tabfest, a charity music festival in Mendon, Ohio, is currently looking for artists to perform at Tabfest 2008. This year’s Tabfest runs from July 18-19, 2008. In 2007, 21 acts were featured at the two-day festival across two stages of music. The event has been in existence for the last 11 years, and has featured live entertainment since 2000. Last year, over 1,000 attended the festival. There is one slot reserved for a Sonicbids artist.
The event is produced by the Harmony for Ohio Foundation, which is comprised entirely of volunteers. Tabfest donates 100% of their profits to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Miami Valley. To date, Tabfest has donated over 4,000 pounds of aluminum can tabs and $18,000.00. Compensation for bands covers travel expenses.
The Harmony for Ohio Foundation (HOF) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to raise funds through musical performances for the direct support of Ohio-based not-for-profit organizations whose programs provide comfort and care to children and families in need.
Some of the past performers include Dickey Betts and Great Southern, Melvin Seals and the Jerry Garcia Band, Backyard Tire Fire, David Nelson Band, Freekbass, The Recipe and dozens of other national, regional and local acts.
