"Tactylics EP-Release Party and "My New Haircut 2" Premiere Feat.Chae Hawk"

Thursday, Aug 13 8:00pm
Strata 915 Broadway
New York, NY 10010
Price: $15
Phone: (212) 505-2192

NYC based, funk-rock band TACTYLICS—recently crowned winner of Anthem Entertainment's International Music Festival for the NYC market—will debut its new EP “The Guilty Pleasures Prototype.” With New Jersey roots, TACTYLICS combines R&B-style grooves with rock songwriting and instrumentation.

Brett Tietjen, Mike Allen, and Keith Orpheus of L2X Productions debut MY NEW HAIRCUT 2: RETURN OF THE BROSKI, a follow-up to the viral YouTube hit that epitomizes the egocentric, self-absorbed ‘bridge-and-tunnel Casanova’ who—in the way he dresses, walks, talks, styles his hair or works out at the gym—is not nearly as hip or as suave as he thinks.

Hip-Hop maven and New York native, CHAE HAWK, debuts a style of music he dubs “Electro Swag” via his latest single, “Play Me.” - The Village Voice

"Tactylics Performs at New York City's Gramercy Theatre on December 19"

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) – Nov 13, 2009 – A fusion of the words "tactile" and "dactylics", Tactylics is a New York-based, funk-rock band dedicated to making music people can feel—combining rich lyrics, melodic hooks, and hard-hitting grooves to produce a powerful rock sound steeped in funk. With New Jersey roots, the group is quickly garnering attention on the local NYC scene, having performed at the coveted "From the Penthouse: Artist Loft Series" at Tainted Blue Studios in October of 2008. Tactylics was also named winner of the International Music Festival for the New York market in March of 2009.

The band recently finished production of its debut EP, “The Guilty Pleasures Prototype”, which was independently released in August of 2009. The EP collectively encapsulates Tactylics' musical style. Conceptually, the mood is dark, as songwriter Ranzo's first three songs share a theme of inner conflict over ill-fated, yet addictive relationships. The remixes showcase the versatility of these songs, as well as Tactylics' cross-genre abilities. As part of their 2009 fall and winter tour promoting the EP, the band has been invited to support The Energy at Gramercy Theatre—a 600+ concert venue that has seen performances by Jay Z, Sean Kingston, and other notable artists. Last year, this holiday show sold out three weeks prior to show time, and now marks a pivotal step in the road to success for Tactylics. Tickets are available at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/87152
