"End Of The Affair"

Taking his cue from great soul songwriters and old school blues, New South Wales singer/songwriter Tamlin‘s music has an organic, roots based flavour to it. 'End Of The Affair’ (his debut album), is a collection of ten well crafted tunes, which showcase the talent he possesses. With a mix in styles like blues, reggae etc, the songs are intimate, appealing, intense and cool all at once. Already supporting the likes of Maxi Priest, Tamlin's future looks bright indeed. End of the affair – Tamlin

Another local muso who has no time for surnames – Hello Lior! – Sydney-based singer/songwriter Tamlin boasts Gypsy blood and has put it to good use here. Best described as slow-boil roots with a smattering of rock and reggae, these songs recall the midnight-cool of Leonard Cohen without being overly derivative. This is fireplace music for the wee hours, whether alone with your thoughts or entwined with your lover.

Bio

Introducing Tamlin, a natural talent with generations of music in his gypsy blood. Born into a family of long artistic pedigree, Tamlin was at a drum kit at age 2 and has emerged an inspired songwriter, effortless singer and captivating performer.

Tamlin’s music is a hybrid of roots, rock and reggae and he has been bewitching live audiences in venues including Spectrum, The Basement and The Hopetoun Hotel for the last four years. Whether solo acoustic or with his compelling band consisting of Zoltan Budai on bass (Richard Clapton), Jon Howell on drums (Leonardo's Bride) and Jeremy Edwards on guitar, Tamlin always delivers. He was a 2004 Musicoz finalist in two categories (Blues and Acoustic) and was invited to perform his original composition “Don’t Sweat It” at the televised awards ceremony.

Tamlin, a multi-instrumentalist who spent years behind the scenes as a sound engineer and producer before taking to the stage himself, has recorded a debut LP, End Of The Affair. Engineered by ARIA award winner Jonathan Burnside, this collection of ten beautifully crafted songs is a striking, soulful album of immaculate performances and rich arrangements including harmonica contributions from Tamlin’s uncle Jim Conway of The Backsliders.

Tamlin is a modern troubadour whose transcendent sound reminds you of something beautiful you forgot you needed. End Of The Affair (Bonza Records) is out now in Australia with releasesin Europe and the UK currently being negotiated
