"Christopher Bell"

Jamestown, New York singer-songwriter Christopher Bell counts Cat Stevens and Bob Dylan among his musical idols. Those influences come through nicely on his understated debut, I'll Be Home, which he issued last year on Silent Home Records. Such songs as "oh, How We Danced" and "Colleen" are pretty pop tunes whose simplicity works in their favor. Think Bright Eyes with better pop sensibilities. - Cleveland Free Times

"I'll Be Home Review"

Jamestown native Christopher Bell spends most of his days on the road, a traveling song-smith making his way from town to town with his tunes. This modern-day folkie’s new album, I’ll Be Home, was recorded here at home, and features some other home-town musicians like Jacinta Whitcome and brother Jonathan.
This follow up to his 2006 EP brings home twelve lovely tracks of well instrumented, interesting and intriguing music as palatable as it is pretty. I’ll Be Home shows Bell’s craftsmanship at building a shelter with well crafted songs. Ours is an area which should show a great deal of pride for the many talent- ed musicians that call Chautauqua County home. Christopher Bell is one of those musicians. Look for him when he says, I’ll Be Home.

Bio

Christopher Bell is not your average cellist. Using various pedals he layers and distorts his electric cello creating quirky, catchy indie pop music. Christopher is known both for his use of technology – which he uses to sample his cello live – and for his unique methods of touring – via canoe, bike and on foot.

Starting music at age 10, Christopher obtained a degree in audio engineering, spending his early 20's recording bands with a mix of homebuilt and modified equipment. He eventually combined the cello and his recording expertise developing his signature style of layered live music.

Christopher's DIY unique approach has earned him much public attention and press. He has taught seminars on songwriting, and music business. Earned national attention from NPR, the NY Times and CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. He is the co-owner of Indie Booker, a business helping independent artists book their own tours.

As a cellist Bell has shared the stage with members of the 10,000 Maniacs, and has lent his music to TV pilots, web series and independent films.
