Local music is where it all starts. Every band that has made it to the "big time" had to start out somewhere.
It is a perspective that no one really thinks about, but locally is where many bands get their fan base.
Nirvana, Motley Crue, and even Jimi Hendrix started small and worked their way to the top. So here is some good news! I am here to tell you about local bands that really have the potential to make it big. Each month I will spotlight one or more local bands or musicians for you to check out; who knows, they might be the next best thing.
This month, I bring you The Glitter Boys! These five guys are my absolute favorite in Rock n' Roll and they are sure to bring a smile to your face as well.
With their 80's style and music, The Glitter Boys are bringing back rad music from your favorites such as Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi, and Poison.
All from the surrounding area of Hattiesburg, each of these guys has a history in Rock n' Roll with previous bands and a love of music.
Together they form an awesome bond that will make your night each time they have a show.
Also, the guys are so enthusiastic on stage, they will get your adrenaline pumping and you will find yourself singing along with them.
Not only do they do a great job of bringing back the good stuff, they have remarkable originals too, including their most popular "Do You Believe in Rock n' Roll." This song is sure to make you "put your fist in the air." They surely do.
The Glitter Boys includes Johnny Sparkles as the lead singer, Chase "The Ace" West shredding the strings off his lead guitar, JonJon the Phenomenon thundering on bass, William "Dr. Haygood" rockin' out on rythum guitar and Jody Row banging on drums. So, next time you hear these guys are in town, check them out. You are sure to have "nothing but a good time" on this "crazy train" of fun and come out feeling like your head is spinning "round and round".

The Glitter Boys bring to the stage a high energy glam rock show with amazing showmanship and a sound that will make you stand up and put your fist in the air. Their music is a pure brand of catchy Rock N' Roll with big hooks matched by a cool groove you can dance and bang your head too. The music hits hard, it rocks even harder and will surely melt your face! The Glitter Boy's Motto is "Do You Believe In Rock n Roll?!?" The guys are sure to bring a party atmosphere everywhere they go as they rip through their set list of metal anthems, the power ballads and original music from their upcoming debut "From Gutter To Glitter" that's sure to show you what real Rock n' Roll is about.
The thunderous tones of “Jon Jon the Phenomenon’s” bass guitar along with the pounding drum style of one “Jody Row” create a slaming low end for Chase “The Ace” West , to paint with his crunch of melodic, yet raunchy rockin riffs. A blazing wall of sound, accompanied by the soaring vocals of the coolest of cool “D-Rock” make for a night full of good times, big smiles and a performance you will never forget!
