"Album Review: Green View – Assimilation EP"

“The members of The Green View are diverse, multi-talented, and able to adapt to a variety of musical stylings...Between Cima’s drumming, superbly executed guitar solos (Davis, Rebbe and Adams), and the more edgy, less melodic singing, these songs are the true definition of rock. - www.freemusicarticles.com

"The Green View Assimilates"

“...The Green View could easily conquer the globe with their diverse rock and roll concoction and seek what they so desperately seem to want...assimilation into the mainstream.” - First Coast News

"The Green View: Assimilation EP – Music Review"

“...it’s sometimes easy to forget that that rock was always the scruffy kid in the class that wasn’t there to please the teacher but to burn down the school. And The Green View’s first release, “Assimilation EP” is the kind of CD that lights the fire and keeps fanning the flames...Their “Assimilation EP” is not champagne, caviar and chamber music. Hell no, it’s double cheeseburgers, greasy fries and loud electric guitars. It’s blood on the multi-tracks and hair on the wall we’ve all been up against at one time or another. ” - Hot Indie News/Google News

"The Green View needs a"

The Green View are a band from downstate Illinois who managed to find a way to put a charming, delightful, horrifying, and none too badass spin on the health care debate. This video, for the song “Doctor,” was directed by Thomas Snyder and it came with the tagline, “Health care. It can be a nightmare.” Too true. And… in case your sick of people doing nothing about it, in downstate Illinois, the public still seem to have the option of rocking. Props to the monumentally sinister Chris Brown as a vampire Doctor who could make those True Blood pretty boys crap themselves. Well done, Mr. Snyder and The Green View for taking a well aimed zombie swipe at the whole mess. - Seizure Chicken

Bio

In the town of Greenview, Illinois (population no greater than 800), childhood friends came together one summer to make a record. They met in a small, dusty old attic, crowded with guitars, drums, microphones and a computer loaded with bootleg recording software. The experience changed their lives. Writing quickly became both a passion and an obsession as The Green View band was born. Back in 2002 no one would have predicted the band’s song catalog growing from a dozen songs to over 100 in just a few years. Songs progressed into a wide variety of genres and themes. Social awareness, love, loss, life & death, and the struggles of what the band calls the new P.O.W.s: Prisoners of Welfare, began shaping their sound and attitude. The Green View performed at venues and festivals around central Illinois for the better part of a decade before relocating to Austin, Texas in 2012.

The Green View features Zach Spaulding (lead vocals), Tom Rebbe (guitars, vocals), Todd Cima (percussion, vocals), Jeff Adams (guitars), and Patrick Sanderson (bass).
