"The Most Played Song in Australia for 2011"

And the winner is ‘Animal’ from Neon Trees with 16568 spins, followed closely by ‘Moves Like Jagger’ from Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera in second place with Airplay of 14,240 instances.

Considering we live in Australia it would be awesome to see an Australian act attract the most plays on Australian radio next year. Sheesh, its like banging your head a against a brick wall.....Congrats to this years winners. But I'd rather hear these boys 16568 times. Give it up for The In The Out from Melbourne Australia! - Undercover - (By Sally Bailey)

Taking cue's from bands like Joy Division and Primal Scream to Wreckless Eric and The Fall, The In The Out are delivering just the kind of tasty goodness you are looking for in a sea of cardboard cornflakes. "The In The Out"

Melbourne’s The In the Out are on the road this February.
Recently they have been described by America’s The Examiner as Psychedelic Garage Pop and sinister-cool. Releasing their debut self-titled EP back in August 2012 with the single, It’s OK, being pumped for 6 weeks on FbI Radio to rave reviews, their latest sound release is Heat, launched in November with Sydney’s The Dead Heads.
The two bands are now touring together. The We're Popping Our Cherry February tour will be visiting NSW with the help of Melbourne’s Nervous and Sydney’s Box of Fuck.
The Deads Heads will be launching their much anticipated Summer Series EP at the FbI Social gig, the follow up to their unbelievably good, Go Ape Shit! LP. If your thing is garage/psych bands you need to be here!

"Legends Of Motorsport, River Of Snakes, The In The Out @ Old Bar"

I was unintentionally drunk before I even figured out where the tram was. Eventually it came by, I clambered on and sat with my head facing down in case the need arose and I was forced to have to slur to a stranger.

I got off and wandered toward to one of my favourite Melbourne venues, The Old Bar. On the way there I ran into an old friend I hadn’t seen in a loooong time heading in as well… awesome! Good times ahead! Dufbaum! As we entered the place was full of punters talking loudly and the small TV up behind the bar unsuccessfully vying for our attention.

The first band up was The In The Out. I have no idea who they are but my friend knew them. Apparently so did everyone else as the room quickly filled to the first strum.

There were people around me standing on the floor, posters on the walls, red light looking down upon the stage and doors occasionally breaking the monotony of a straight wall. The bass was low, the drums were being hit and there was lots of hi end strumming. I really couldn’t tell you much else other than I was really digging them. The singer / guitarist looked like he was out of Kings Of Leon and seemed to be breaking hearts of those single ladies around me.

I started feeling too drunk. You know that type of drunk that hits you and you're not sure if you're banging your head at the right pace. Are you 3 beats behind the band? Are you seeing things in real time? Are you still banging your head after they've left the stage and everyone else has gone out to the beer garden for a smoke? Who the fuck cares? I'm enjoying my own space with or without the band! I'm still hearing them and that's all that matters.

New York Dolls were also playing this same night... I thought “Pffft, we've got our very own Melbourne Dolls rights here...” - Something Sweet To Throw Away

"FREE DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE FOR " THE IN THE OUT" IT'S OK"

What do you get when you put together three chaps, a love of all good musical genres (make of that what you will) and sonic inspiration from big amps that will enable you to demolish some buildings or break yo mama's glassware.

You get the latest single from Melbournes The In The Out fronted by the suave and tenacious Dallas Gale.

It's a little tune by the name of " Its Ok" and is the latest offering from the self titled E.P "The In The Out". I get strong feelings of Ride from this song, however, as is the case with ever song Gale writes, there can be no definitive finger pointing at any particular influences. Thes boys sound just like The In The Out. Their live shows are definitely something for which you need to keep a vigilant look out, they will impress the b-jesus out of you. Incidentally I believe their next show is October 12th at The Tote in Collingwood VIC.

Anyhoo, I address all lucky punters when I say "It's Ok" is available right now for free download by clicking here. You won't be dispappointed. - undercover.fm

"The In The Out", one of the great bands Australia has recently produced - Undercover.fm (2012)

THE IN THE OUT were born in 2012 and describe themselves as a kind of alternative rock pop-adelic outfit.

Formed by frontman Dallas Gale (vox/gtr), drummer Angus Boyle (ex Dacios) and bassist Paul Marbury (Rocket Science), they released their debut self-titled EP featuring the single’s IT'S OK! and SUBWAY. Undercover FM described them as “one of the great bands Australia has recently produced” and IT’S OK was added to Sydney's Fbi FM high rotation playlist only a month after being released.

Although this line-up lasted a little over 18 months the band shared stages with bands such as Dave Graney & the Mistly, Harry Howard & The NDE, Kim Salmon (Scientists / Beasts of Bourbon), New Christs and Murlocs and venues like the Sydney’s Fbi Social Club, Oxford Art Factory and Melbourne’s Tote, Northcote Social Club, Old Bar and a heap more.

Since 2015 the band has evolved into a more organ vs guitar sound still led by Dallas Gale but now with the addition of Will Hindmarsh (Organ / Synth), Michael Sanders (drums) & Xain Milke (bass).

This August they released a two track teaser from their forthcoming debut LP slated for release by the end of this year. This double A side single release features FREAKING SUN and SPEAR and was entirely self-produced by the band

They have their sights firmly on releasing an amazing debut LP and will be touring Australia in early 2017.
