"A Rockin', Rootsy Thing"

"Thought So does a gently rockin’, rootsy thing."

September 2009 - Time Out New York

"The Weekend Guide NYC"

"Editor's Pick"

"In the middle of New York's sea of asymmetrical haircuts and your roommate's cousin's over-hyped glo-fi band, Thought So are a breath of fresh air. We're always happy when a band claims Wilco as a main influence, and these Americana folk-rockers don't disappoint in that tradition. Catch them tonight at the Merc." - Leah Taylor - Flavorpill

"Thought So!"

"Thought So craft the kind of music rarely heard from New York buzz bands. You know the kind -sparkling alt-country. The kind of music that's twangy yet still polished but not overly-produced. It's refreshingly untrendy americana much in the vain of the Avett Brothers or old school Wilco. In other words it's the kind of music we here at the Volume Knob rather enjoy. They only have one EP so far but bodes well for their musical future. Take a listen for yourself and stream the tunes at their MySpace page (hey what do you know, MySpace is still good for something!).

Oh and if you live around NY, be sure to catch them at the Mercury Lounge June 11." - Jessica Gentile - So This Is What The Volume Knob's For

"You Thought So"

"...Lead singer Sean North possessed an easy, crooning voice and a sound which was engaging and enjoyable to listen to, sort of like a country rock lullaby. Somewhere between Coldplay and early Kings of Leon, Thought So’s tunes were soothing and ripe with a heavy, but hopeful heart. Their music lamented over something melancholy like lost love but in a super catchy way. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly “Wanted To Grow,” an original with well-timed melodic pauses performed for the first time that night.

“They were definitely fun to listen to,” Anne Melewski, a junior biology major, said. “They connected with the audience really well...”

"...Thought So was the kind of band anyone – hipster or little kid – could love, and as they frequently make the rounds from New York to Boston, check out their MySpace and see if they're playing somewhere near you kind of soon."
