Welcome to JanSport's second annual Battle of the Bands! The bands featured here will battle it out for the chance to share a stage with some of the biggest names in music. The winner will perform at next year's Forecastle Festival in Louisville, Kentucky to an audience of fans, press and industry reps.
Past performers of the festival include: Widespread Panic, Black Crowes, Black Keys, The Avett Brothers, Band of Horses, Girl Talk, De La Soul and Sleater-Kinney.
So now we're looking for your vote. Tell us, who's your favorite band?
Vote for your favorite band from August 3 – 31, 2009. You're free to vote once a day. So if there's a band you really love, come back and vote again. The top 25 bands will move on to the semifinals, where judges from JanSport and The Forecastle Festival will choose the top-five finalists – to be revealed on September 15.
We need your help again! Vote for your favorite top-five finalist from September 15 – October 15, 2009. The winner will be announced at the "Halfway to Forecastle" concert in Louisville, Kentucky in January 2010 and will play at The Forecastle Festival in July 2010. Don't forget, you can vote once a day.
