Wolfeboro Folk was launched in 2001 by Wolfeboro residents, Ben Anderson (president of Great Waters Music Festival) and Steve Patterson (owner of TLB Music Co.) who decided to combine efforts and bring some of today's top traditional and contemporary folk musicians to the Wolfeboro, NH area.
This year, Wolfeboro Folk received a "Best of NH" award for the "Best Place to Hear New Folk Music".
Held on slightly more than a monthly basis from September 2006 to May 2007, the series provides an intimate atmosphere where the audience can enjoy the full experience of live music. There is at least one slot, possibly more, reserved for a Sonicbids artist. Artists will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Selected artists will be compensated for their performances.
To say that the Wolfeboro Folk Concert Series has been a success is a serious understatement. To date, 90% of the concerts have sold out.
