The Xclamation Festival (Xfest) will be held on July 18, 2009. Xfest is unlike any other festival of its kind in the United States. Xfest features up to 40 bands and performers on 6 separate stages and the world’s largest outdoor disco that spans four city blocks. In its 10th year, Xfest is the largest music festival in the central valley.
Xclamation Festival draws 15,000 people to downtown Modesta, CA and features some of the best and most popular touring acts in the country. Xclamation Festival 2008 has confirmed 5 guaranteed performance slots for Sonicbids artists.
In terms of compensation, artists are paid based on the band’s market value in Modesto. If a band has a proven draw, solid record sales, radio airplay or a cool shtick, they may earn some compensation. If bands have no draw then it is unlikely that you will be paid. However, Xfest does facilitate merchandise sales and does not take any cut of the profit!
Previous Xfest performers include Simple Plan, Pepper, Candlebox, Eve 6, Bad Boy Bill, Blue October, Y&T, Powerman 5000, DJ Dan, Marshall Tucker Band, Digital Underground, Tone Loc, Dishwalla, Grandaddy, Sir Mix a Lot and Vanilla Ice.
