"6 Prong Paw"

"With a gritty, dirty, pulse-pounding sound, 6 Prong Paw goes against the grain with a kick-ass balance of heavy and clean. A low end that will leave you with a percussion concussion, pounds under some speed on the front end that will your head spin. Nick’s vocals are reminiscent of a black tooth grin… clean but oh so aggressive. Like their name… a 6-prong paw is a dog’s foot without the prong claw removed… there wouldn’t have been so much damage if it weren’t for 6 Prong Paw. From: Hastings.MI " - Mosh Pit Nation

"6 Prong Paw"

"6 PRONG PAW" have finally defined their sound outside of the Michigan-area from where they were born. In 2006, they won "The Heavyweight Championship" BOTB (sponsored by 107.7 WKLQ) - & signed a deal with "Twisted Hillbilly Records" in 2010. Now, all that's left to do for the eager fivesome is to release their FIRST full-scale CD...entitled "Auditive Levitation"...& rid the world of conformist musical notions! Their genre-bending effects combine hardcore metal, progressive rhythms, & southern-injected vocals that introduce "spontaneity" with a lot of GRITTY charm. "COLD REPETITION" - the first single off the upcoming CD, in which the band has just finished filming a new video for, hits our site player with "6 PRONG PAW" as our #1 FEATURE ARTIST!!!! Fans will be able to download the song (via iTunes) on October 25th, with the official "Auditive Levitation" album drop happening in JANUARY (2013). "6 Prong Paw"

"6 Prong Paw has been clawing their way to their first full-length for a long, long time. The veteran metal band began in Hastings back in 1998, and has remained a big part of the West Michigan rock scene, even as their lineup has changed around founding members Nick Williams (vocals) and Dustin Cook (guitar). Now made up of Williams, Cook, bassist/backing vocalist Chad Rabideau, drummer Josh Moore, and guitarist Jake Scott, they will release the fourteen-song album, Auditive Levitation, Jan. 19 at Planet Rock in Battle Creek. The album follows their two EPs, 2003’s self-titled disc, and 2005’s “Victim of Mainstream America.” " - Eric Mitts at Recoil Magazine

Bio

Sessions for 6 Prong Paw started in 1998. The band was formed by Nick Williams on guitar/vocals, Dustin Cook on bass, Chad Johncock on drums and Mike Smith on guitar. 6pp recorded their first demo at River City Studios in 1999 with Mark Rehl. The cd was entitled Window of Opportunity the main purpose of the demo was to get a buzz going at parties and local venues about the band. They never really officially released the cd on line but is still sold at shows.
For the next few years, 6pp had troubles with Mike Smith and added current guitarist Sean Austin to the line up in 2001. The next endeavor was to record a full length cd. The band spent much of their weekends in 2001-2002 recording at Thin Black Line Studios in Williamston Michigan. When it came to finally mixing the project, 6pp decided to send the tracks to Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford Florida. Nick had come in contact with Jason Suecof (Audio Hammer owner and engineer) through the band Summon, whom Nick has known for years. Suecof has recorded such bands as Trivium, God Forbid, Devildriver, Chimaira and countless others. After listening to the 6pps tracks, Suecof highly recommended that they come down and record 4 songs with him and ditch the last year of recording. They agreed. In January 2003, 6pp drove to Sanford Florida to record there self-titled cd (the blue album). They recorded 4 songs in a week a managed to save World Without from the tracks recorded in Michigan. The cd was then mastered at Morrisound Studios by Tom Morris in Tampa Florida. Soon after the release of the blue album, drummer Chad Johncock quit. 6pp selected former Summon drummer and long time friend Josh Moore to fill the slot. The band spent much of 2003 and 2004 writing new material and playing as many shows as they could. In late 2004 it was decided the band would go back to Suecof to record again. The cd would include 6 songs and be entitled Victim of Mainstream America. This time around the band spent 2 weeks in Florida. Suecof encouraged the band to record the drums at Morrisound studios. Morrisound has catered to such artists as Seven Mary Three, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Sepulture and many others. After the drums where done they would bring the tracks back to Audio Hammer to do the rest. They agreed. Victim of Mainstream America was released in the summer of 2005.
In March 2006 6 Prong Paw went on to win The Heavyweight Championship battle of the bands competition sponsored by former radio station 107.7 wklq. The band beat over 200 entries. They also were approached b Joe Picasso films and had the winning show filmed in HD. The band had entered the competition for the past 5 five years, each time making it to the finals, so it was a great triumph to finally win. Plus the shows where creating a great buzz about the band in the Michigan area.
In 2008 6pp added Chad Rabideaux to the line up. It was agreed that Nick would just sing, Dustin would move to guitar and Rabideaux would take over the bass. Not only being a great bass player, Chad was a great back up singer, adding the harmonies that Nick has sung on the past two cds.
In 2010 6pp signed a 3 year deal with "Twisted Hillbilly Records" out of Knoxville Tennessee. They have took a brake from doing shows to record with Wayne Tourville at the Hillbilly studios. The 14 track disc is scheduled to be released in January 2013 followed by lots of touring and videos.
