M.E.A.N.Y. FEST 2010

Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to M.E.A.N.Y. FEST 2010. Over 260 bands performed in the best NYC venues for M.E.A.N.Y. FEST 2009, with 150 selected Sonicbids artists. Prizes will be given to the top performers including recording time, Jango.com airplay, software and more.



This year, another 150 spots are reserved for artists who submit through Sonicbids. At least 25 slots will be reserved for artists who submit by June 15th, and these artists will receive confirmation of their acceptance by June 20th. Additionally, 3 slots are reserved for artists from each of these geographic regions in the US: Midwest, Mountain, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, West/n/nMUSICIANS & EMERGING ARTISTS NEW YORK rocks the big apple like no other! The festival will take place in the 9/17-10/2 and all finalists will perform with a special guest act (venue and date TBA). Three finalists are voted in by audience members during their performance in the fall along with 2 picks chosen by M.E.A.N.Y. FEST staff. One pick will be included from NY and one will be chosen from out of state, both will move on to the finals along with top 3 vote getters. A winner and runner up will be determined by an industry panel for the finals event taking place in December. The M.E.A.N.Y. panels have included Jonathan Clarke from Q104.3 (one of Clear Channel's highest rated radio stations), the head of A&R from Tommy Boy Records, Ben Xavier from Showtime and Michael Musto from the Village Voice.

Over 260 bands performed in the best NYC venues for M.E.A.N.Y. FEST 2008 and approximately 15,000 people attended over the week of rock. Over 150 Sonicbids bands performed at last year's event! In 2010, another 150 spots are reserved for artists who submit through Sonicbids. 25 slots will be reserved for artists who submit by June 15th, and they will receive confirmation of their acceptance by June 30th. This is on top of the 25 slots that were reserved for submissions received before May 15th. Additionally, 3 slots are reserved for artists from each of these geographic regions in the US: Midwest, Mountain, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, West .

This year's event will be an exciting one and will rock the best venues in NYC in the fall of 2010. M.E.A.N.Y. FEST showcased bands accross 15 venues in 2009 included the Gramercy Theater, Santos Party House, Bowery Poetry Club, Crash Mansion, the Delancey and many more.

Prizes for 2010 will include the following:

• 2 full days of recording time including engineer, more details tba!
  
• Manic Kat Records will be awarding the winning band a digital distribution deal through its distributor,Warner Music Group. Your full length record or EP with be available for digital download from every major outlet, Best Buy.com, Target,com, FYE.com, and iTunes, just to name a few. *Some restrictions may apply.
  
• A radio package from Notorious radio including a full promotion at New Music shows as well as web radio stations across the country, all of whom have been hand picked because they support underground music.
  
• 1000 free spins from Jango.com- Jango "airplay" is a music marketing tool for artists and labels to promote their music to Jango's 7 million listeners. I'm in love with Jango! USA
  
• A Reason 4 virtual studio for winner and runner up-Reason version 4 is a virtual studio rack with all the tools and instruments you need to turn your ideas into music.
