What's up everyone!! I'm Acklen Walker, an indie artist from Greenville, SC who moved to Nashville, TN in 2013 to pursue my music career. Prior to moving, I played local shows, performed around my high school and college, and led worship for a couple of youth groups where I found my first band and recorded a project titled "After All These Years".
My first major project "Aphrodite" was a hip-hop/R&B album which had great local success and continues to be played in local clubs in the Middle Tennessee area. The year I released that, 2019, I also began to DJ at Deja Vu Showgirls and became the primary MC leading up to the beginning of the pandemic.
When the pandemic hit, I simultaneously entered into a relationship with the love of my life while beginning to endure the most treacherous period of mental health. The combination of these things led to inevitable issues that I had yet to deal with, and thus began to go to therapy to work on myself in the many ways that I had neglected to years prior.
And so, "Inner Nature" was born. A project that feels more authentically *me* in both sound and in my writing. This EP has had more positive response than any previous, in both others and in myself, and I immediately received interest from musicians wanting to pursue and support "Inner Nature".
All this to say - I'm very excited to perform again and can't wait to play in your city/venue!
