""Anjelia is the closest to Marilyn Monroe I've ever known""

"One of the artists performing at my British Invasion Concert next Saturday, is Anjelia. Anjelia Pelay is the closest to Marilyn Monroe I've ever known, in looks and personality...except she sings her beautiful butt off."
- Glen Burtnik [Singer/Songwriter/Composer/Former Bassist of STYX] - Glen Burtnik [Singer/Songwriter/Composer/Former Bassist of STYX]

"The Deli Magazine"

Anjelia is a talented, emerging NJ based singer songwriter - and actress. Her song "A Long Way" is the highlight from her repertoire, and although it's probably a little too mainstream for us, it's undeniably a very good song with a catchy, interesting melody featuring an inpeccable vocal performance. Considering also the lady's looks, there's potential for a new, slightly more upbeat Lana Del Rey here. - the nyc scene blog

"Anjelia Pelay @ Espresso Joe's"

"Versatile and multi-talented, musician, singer/songwriter, model and actress (drama and comedy), with a resume too long to here mention, Anjelia could start a one girl entertainment industry. " - By David Pambianchi, NewsBlaze.com

"Asbury Park quintuple threat Anjelia Pelay celebrates debut album release at the Stone Pony"

Mark your calendar for the very auspicious date of November 11, 2011 -- 11-11-11! That night, rising Jersey Shore-area artist Anjelia Pelay celebrates the release of her debut full-length album, Believe (Indigo Planet Records). As an experienced actress and model, Pelay is no ordinary somber singer-songwriter girl at the guitar, and she's got a multimedia spectacle up her sleeves that promises an evening unlike any other typical local show.
In the past year that she's devoted full time to music, besides guest starring frequently in Glen Burtnik's Beatlemania productions, she's sung backup for Patty Smyth, and opened for Jeffrey Gaines and Bess Rogers. The Aquarian dubbed her "worth watching" after one of her early performances in Manhattan, and the Trentonian recently called her a "multi-talented" "statuesque beauty" who is "the total package."
Now, she gets her own turn to headline, at a fittingly historic venue: the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park. Anjelia will appear backed by a full five-piece band led by musical director and Believe producer Jeff Plate (Nicole Atkins, the Gay Blades). A trio of fellow talented area singers like Emily Grove will also sing backup.
But that's not all. Anjelia has also worked with choreographer and filmmaker Pete Carter to create a full-on theatrical production that includes original short films, a corps of four back-up dancers, and even special effects.
This show is all ages. Other acts on the bill include Michael Dante Summonte and Town Hall. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 11 at the Stone Pony, 913 Ocean Ave., Asbury Park, New Jersey (732-502-0600, stoneponyonline.com). Tickets cost $10 in advance at the Stone Pony box office and via Ticketmaster, or $12 at the door.

"Anjelia opens new hip, elegant Atlantic City club"

Anjelia Pelay First original music singer/songwriter performer @ Whiskey Bar: Torch at Resorts

Torch’s initial performer was Anjelia Pelay on (Friday and Saturday, May 20-21) and this coming week (May 26-28) Pelay will co-headline with Dina Rudeen. Pelay is a singer, songwriter, actress, and multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar, melodica, harmonica, ukelele, and accordian), born and raised in Toms River who began playing Mozart and Beethoven pieces by memory on the piano at age five.

Also on the schedule for early June is Phoebe Legere — a composer, multi-instrumentalist, actress, painter, recording artist, Pulitzer Prize nominee, and singer with a four-octave range. Legere is a virtuoso keyboardist who led seminal East Village rock bands before being signed to Epic Records at age 16. She starred in such underground film classics as Toxic Avenger 2 and 3, and Mondo New York, and regularly performs at the famed jazz club Iridium on Broadway with her quintet Phoebe and the Ooh La La Coq Tail.

""Believe" CD Review by Examiner.com"

Anjelia Pelay is a rising star from Asbury Park, NJ, who is an actress, dancer, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist. The multi-talented artist will be releasing her debut full length album Believe on November 11, 2011 and will also be having an album release show at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park that same day.

I have already heard a few tracks off of Believe, and they are really quite stunning. Anjelia has a beautiful voice and it's really rare to see such talent and sincerity on a debut album. She transitions effortlessly from soul to pop-rock to covering Tom Petty's "Walls," and sounds exceptional in everything she does. Clearly she needs to be added to the list of fantastic new local artists to watch. You can check out her songs "A Long Way," "Walls," and "IDK" on her website now, and get the full album on November 11th.

Her live show this month won’t just be a regular concert, she has a multimedia experience planned that should be unlike most local shows. She will have a full five-piece band backing her as well as a trio of back-up singers and four back-up dancers. She will also add a theatrical element by including short films and special effects.

The Stone Pony show will take place on Friday, November 11, 2011. Doors open at 7:30pm, and it is an all ages show. Also performing that night are other local artists including Michael Dante Summonte and Town Hall. Tickets are $10 in advance at the Stone Pony Box office and through Ticketmaster (they charge a $3 fee per ticket for this show), and tickets at the door will be $12. Bio

As an actress onstage and on television, Toms River, New Jersey-based performer Anjelia Pelay has stolen the heart of wrestler Randy Orton, charmed Gene Simmons, and channeled both Britney Spears and the Beatles with equal aplomb. But Anjelia (say it anj-uh-LEE-uh!), all that acting was just a warm-up for her true passion: music.

To pursue a songwriting habit that developed at the tender age of five, Pelay returned from Hollywood to New Jersey to join the white-hot Asbury Park music scene. As a true quintuple threat -- actress, dancer, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist -- she's quickly risen through the region's ranks.

As a true performer at heart, she's bringing an excitingly theatrical flair to the often-staid world of singer-songwriter fare. Anjelia's soulful, hook-laden contemporary pop-rock has won industry kudos from the likes of producer Rodney Jerkins and former Styx bassist/vocalist Glen Burtnik, with whom she regularly performs in his celebrated Beatlemania shows.

In the past year that she's devoted full time to music, besides guest starring frequently in Burtnik's productions, she's sung backup for Patty Smyth, and opened for Jeffrey Gaines and Nicole Atkins. The Aquarian dubbed her "worth watching" after one of her early performances in Manhattan, and the Trentonian recently called her a "multi-talented" "statuesque beauty" who is "the total package."

In other words, Anjelia is no ordinary somber girl at the guitar or piano. While backed by a full band, she seamlessly transitions from piano, to keyboard, to even melodica and ukulele and back. Her sound touches on everything from heartland roots rock to eccentric Norwegian pop, but it all comes together in radio-ready, but 100 percent honest, earworm songs. Think the dramatic and melodic knack of Freddie Mercury (one of Anjelia's biggest influences), the lyrical immediacy of Joni Mitchell, the smart, broad appeal of Gavin Degraw, and even a little bit of the blue-eyed soul-pop of Justin Timberlake.

On Friday, November 11 (11-11-11!) Anjelia headlined the legendary Stone Pony, of course, the Asbury Park venue made famous worldwide by Bruce Springsteen. The occasion was the release of Believe, her debut full-length album, on New Jersey-based Indigo Planet Records. The eight tracks comprise both adult contemporary rock singles like the original "A Long Way" and heartfelt ballads like "Forever Gone." Also included are carefully selected covers that have become fan favorites, including a goosebump-inducing reinterpretation of Tom Petty's "Walls."

The show was unlike any other Stone Pony show. With her sights set on conquering the entertainment world at large, she delivered a spectacle worthy of huge stages. Besides the full band, Anjelia included backup singers, dancers, and even short films and choreography for an unforgettable evening.
