"Shoot Your Shot"

SUMMER IS BACK! We interviewed one of the hottest up and coming artists in the country, Annika Bellamy with her new hit song Summer O’clock (19:37-48:10). - LB908 Magazine Podcast Interview

"Award Winning music review magazine ‘The Other Side’ gives an amazing review of “PSYCHO”"

Are you looking for a song full of empowerment with fierce and inspirational vibes? Look no further than ‘Psycho’ by Annika Bellamy which looks at cutting loose from a toxic relationship. Through the pain of the single, there is a sense of everything being worthwhile for the freeing and rewarding feeling once you are your own person again. This real-life contemporary RnB single will have you feeling inspired while overcoming heartbreak and shaking off the toxicity of a bad relationship.

Teaming up with producer Jayden Panesso, Bellamy hits you with sexy, empowering and lively sounds. Drawing on a musical background, she creates a soundscape that you are drawn into while being pumped with the emotions she wants you to feel.

‘Psycho’ draws you in with a simple yet deep opening melody that gives way to Bellamy’s vocals. Her dulcet tones are smooth as she draws you into the lyrics. Her emotive performance fills you with a sense of moving on from a bad relationship. Through her performance, you are taken through the realisation that the relationship is toxic to moving on and understanding that you are better off. The lyrics cover a lot of ground including the other person trying to make the victim out to be the psycho.

Below her empowering vocals, is a very smooth RnB melody. The melody slides against your ears in the background allowing the vocals to stand out. However, there is a beat within the depths of the melody that has you shifting to the rhythm. As the song progresses, the melody retains its smoothness, but there is a sense of freedom bubbling from the depths.

Annika Bellamy helps you overcome heartbreak and move on from a toxic relationship in the inspiring and empowering ‘Psycho’. The contemporary RnB melody forms the perfect basis for her sultry vocals that wrap you in a blanket of strength. Through the single, you are given the boost you need to move on and feel the freedom this provides. - The Other Side Music Review Magazine

"Annika Bellamy Aims To Make It Big In Long Beach With Reggaeton"

“It’s a dream and I’m doing what I can to get there.”

Annika Bellamy moved to Long Beach from Las Vegas with a dream to make it in the music business. She settled herself in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood, set up a home studio and got to work.

“My career has completely changed since I moved to California,” Bellamy said. “My music, my approach, everything is different from what it was a year ago.”

Bellamy’s sound has shifted, she said. Her first songs could be described as new-age rhythm and blues, but now she’s exploring Reggaeton, a Puerto Rican style of music made popular by the likes of Daddy Yankee, Don Omar and J Balvin.

While unconventional, Bellamy is using her talent to help her better learn the Spanish language. Making music is an easier way for her to put the language to practice, she said.

“Moving to Long Beach has helped me get more in touch with my Spanish-speaking roots,” she added. “There’s a lot of diverse culture here and plenty of opportunity to connect with people who are bilingual and let me practice my Spanish with them.”

Her father is from Spain, and while she said she’s familiar with the language, she never had the opportunity to learn it. Her first Spanish song, “Olvidarte” – meaning “Forget You” in English – is a milestone for her, she said.

Bellamy has had plenty of help on her venture. Jayden Panesso, an American Columbian songwriter and producer, helped her write and produce the song. Her Spanish-speaking goals earned her the nickname “Annika La Unica” – meaning “Unique Annika” – among her fellow singer, songwriter peers.

“I really expanded (since moving to Long Beach) and I’m a free spirit, clinging to what’s artsy and unique,” she said.

Her first music video for “Olvidarte” will debut in the upcoming weeks on YouTube. It’s the first video she’s professionally produced – as well as her first song in a different language than her native English.

“I never would have thought that my first music video would be in Spanish,” she said. “But I’m moving with the opportunities I am given.”

Bellamy’s manager, David Leidenz, said that he first heard “Olvidarte” earlier this year at a club in Japan called Club Lex Tokyo. The feeling of hearing it played in public can be described as “phenomenal,” he said.

“You put in all this work, and it feels like you’re getting there,” he said. “It’s exciting to think about what the future for Annika might hold.”

"Stereo Stickman Review of Summer O'Clock"

Representing perfectly the good vibes and free-flowing energy you’ll find within, Summer O’Clock is an aptly titled and quickly likable new single – one that fuses the familiar bounce of pop and dance-hall with a subtly unique vocal; a sense of identity that’s likely to stand tall throughout Annika Bellamy’s entire upcoming catalogue.

Leading with a creative balance between retro synths and contemporary samples and fragments of sound, Summer O’Clock introduces a partly nostalgic ambiance and melody, the sort that takes you back to the good old days – or quite simply takes you down to the beach; where the weight of the world can fall away for a while.

Production-wise those opening touches of colour lay out a welcoming and comforting scene – familiar, stylistically intentional. Then you get Bellamy’s leading voice, not cutting through the mix or riding on top of it, but cleverly and smoothly embedded within it – adding instrumental value as well as a clear hit of personality and recognisable tone. There’s a depth to her vocal presentation that seems quite rare of late, then during that rising melodic moment that is the pre-chorus you’re given a totally vintage, almost eighties-style instance of reflection and variation; throbbing in additional rareness and helping softly push that creative edge even further.

The track works hard structurally, and Annika as a leading lady works equally hard to maintain that level of smooth and simple good times. The song is not overly optimistic or loud, far from it – there’s a subtlety to the warmth and enjoyment it drives with, and this is a big part of why it works so well and is likely to appeal on a much broader level. There’s also a distinct opportunity for various remixes here. An easy hit to get you feeling free this summer – well worth a few spins on the road-trip. - Rebecca Cullen
