Our Venues
From the start, the Avalon set out to be a different kind of entertainment and dining experience for downtown Owen Sound. Located in the heart of the city at 9th St E at 2nd Ave, the Avalon is all-ages, family friendly and affordable, with Creole/Cajun cuisine, live jazz 5 nights a week, and live entertainment at our Sunday Brunch.
Our regular schedule includes a trad-jazz Dixieland jam Wednesdays at 9pm and featuring local and touring jazz artists Friday and Saturday 9pm to 11pm, with solo performers on our century-old Weber piano for the Sunday Jazz Brunch. On Thursdays Kaelin Murphy hosts an informal jazz-instrumental karaoke!
Menu items range from our Bourbon Shrimp to our feature glazed salmon, with Cajun/Creole specialties including jambalaya, chicken&waffles, biscuits&gravy and a real filé gumbo! There's also burgers, cajun fries, po'boy sandwiches and cajun poutine!
