Bio

Robbie Jenkins is the CEO/Founder of the multi-faceted entertainment company, Overture Entertainment, Inc. Robbie was the featuring performing artist for The 2016 Jackie Robinson Park of Fame Music Fest. He has completed an apprenticeship with Grammy-nominated, Producer/Songwriter/Artist, Kashif, which afforded him the opportunity to interact with Whitney Houston, George Benson, Dionne Warwick and others. He has also orchestrated an original work for and performed it with the Washington Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C.   As an artist/songwriter, Robbie currently has several releases downloading and streaming in 21 counties.  His 2007 debut single, "Wherever You Go" (from the debut album, "Because It Feels Right") jumped  from #58 to #6 on the LIVE 365 RADIO CHART during its second week on the charts. DJ Yoshi & DJ Hyde (Japan) included  "I'm The One" (also from B.I.F.R.) in their "High & Low Vol 3 Hip Hop & RnB Mix" sold out mix-tape which also includes Akon, Alicia Keys,Chris Brown and Ne-Yo.

 

Robbie has performed as a professional background vocalist and multi-instrumentalist in several World Tours with various major recording artists (Surface, P.M. Dawn, Jimmie Vaughan and many others); several national and international television appearances (The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Arsenio Hall Show and others); several major CD's; and music videos.  He has been a frequent guest on Our Lives with Gwen Edwards to promote appearances and civic activities in the community.  In September of 2014, Overture Entertainment, Inc. released a popular music video for his single, "I Wanna Be With You" off of his "Because It Feels Right" CD.  He has completed and released his latest CD, "#Evolution" in the spring of 2015.  Robbie is also a respected music educator, author and lecturer in matters of music education and industry. Through Overture Entertainment, Inc.'s Music Development Institute programs, he has lectured at UCONN Storrs; taught at Norwalk Community College; and, provided after school music programs at several schools in the Stamford Public Schools System.  Robbie has also provided hands-on learning in music theory, music composition, songwriting, record production, vocal training, piano and guitar.

 

Robbie has consistently been involved with various youth and community organizations.  Since his first tour in 1989, he has given away thousands of dollars in scholarship awards to students wishing to pursue music degrees in colleges and universities.  To date, many have graduated and are working in their chosen field.  He created a regional award-winning teen employment program for the Stamford YMCA.  He has been trained as a crisis intervention counselor by the American Red Cross in Bridgeport, CT.  His work has garnered him organizational recognition and several civic awards; including a Key to the City of Stamford in 1989 for his community "service to youth under Mayor Thomas Serani.  Robbie's creed is simple: "I cannot pay those back that assisted in my development. But, I can certainly pay it forward."
