Bio

Brooklyn New York native /_\drian Daniel has developed a singing style delivering mellow lows, and high pitch ranges that can deliver songs from a variety of genres without seeming forced. His songwriting tells stories, interweaving thought provoking messages shying away from songs that merely titillate. Listeners can hear Out of Gas, Gone and Round of Applause and not only enjoy each song but relate to its story. Surrounded by predominately hip hop music and rappers in his Brownsville community, unless you rap, getting notice and finding opportunities to perform live was no easy feat. But when given the opportunity music writers have described /_\drian as a refreshing surprise from the stereotypical male R&B singer. He will entertain you with the precision moves and high pitched notes of a pop star, serenade you with soulful acoustic renditions with guitar in hand, swag out on a hip hop collabo, and belt out an electronic rock song all in one show. A huge fan of Kanye West, UK's Sade, Frank Ocean, and ’30 Seconds to Mars’, N.E.R.D, Jay-Z and Q-Tip you can hear their influences in his songs. As a result of his mother’s influence Adrian was introduced to Stevie Wonder, Queen, Journey, Luther Vandross, Sam Cooke, Wilson Pickett, Jackie Wilson, and Otis Redding. /_\drian also studied the artistry of arranging and delivering a song from legendary producers such as John Foster, Quincy Jones, Dozier & Dozier and Gamble & Huff. Then there an unorthodox side of Adrian’s music taste when he listens to artists like Jimmy Hendrix, Kid Cudi, MGMT and Cold Play as well as study the showmanship of Sam & Dave, Sammy Davis Jr and Prince. For song writing /_\drian was primarily influenced by Michael Jackson ability to mingle social issues into the message of many of his songs such as Black and White and They Don't Really Care About Us.
With his exposure to various genres of music Adrian unique singing style and songwriting ability began to attract singing and rap artists and producers to work with him on projects. In February 2011, returning from London, Paris and Rome, Adrian began working with local producers to collaborate on a number of projects. In the winter of 2011-2012 Adrian returned to the studio to complete his first EP 'Memoirs of a Stoner’, featuring the first single release 'True Lovin' and ‘Out of Gas’ produced by a newly formed production group The Stoners. Following the release of Memoirs of a Stoner in May 2012 to critical acclaim, Adrian began touring around the New York City area to promote his debut EP and was invited as a featured guest on several college and hip hop local radios shows including DealWithNoDeal and most recently outside of New York on WLVS 'The L00king Glass' located in DC (DMV) that broadcast to all 50 states and over 50+ countries. Following the release of Adrian's first official video featuring the single ‘Out of Gas’, released September 30 2012 that continues to build a buzz, /_\drian Daniel caught the attention of the Roots 'Okayplayer' as a featured artist on their 'First Look Fridays' who described him as 'fresh because of his originality...defies labels" and gives an unabashed live performance. During a rehearsal session working on songs from his 2nd soon to released EP titled 'NATIVE' R&B artist Maxwell band members described /_\drian's falsetto as 'flawless'. Maxwell remembers him as the guy with the hair. Legendary jazz bassist 'Stanley Banks' described /_\drian' swag and approach to his music as that of the iconic Miles Davis and an artist to keep your eye on. NATIVE ’ is scheduled for release by the end of January 2013.
