We don’t have much info on this one. It was sent through on Twitter and we learned that the artist behind it is Energe, a rapper from Chicago’s South Side. “YBA,” also the name of Energe’s Young Black & Amazing collective, is a hypnotizing track. The beat channels hazy cloud rap vibes without all the muddled lo-fi noise, and Energe’s delivery is effortlessly commanding. - Pigeons and Planes
Southern vibes reminiscent of T.I. and Goodie Mob encompass the latest from Chicago artist Energe. “One Thing” shows that this young man is no one trick pony as he takes us through the roller coaster that is his quickened flow on a mellow track. The soothing sounds of our emcee delving into his soulful side provide a nice backdrop to an overall smooth ride through his understated confidence. “One Thing” is one of the singles off Energe’s mixtape “PRIMO” which is slated for release towards the end of August this year. - Hip Hop Since 1987
The homie Energe is back with this smokin hot single produced by Luxury, the beat on this record is absolutely insane; not to mention Energe’s relentless flow. It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from the kid E, but the wait was definitely worth it. Check out the record below and go check out “Collector’s Edition” if you haven’t. #YBA - The Made Blog

Bio
Music has the power to stimulate the senses. It can make one see, taste, touch, smell, and even feel differently. It is rare in today’s industry for artists to bring the type of flavor that insights that from a crowd. This is where the Chicago native Energe shines amongst the few. He brings unique sounds that tease the ear of listeners into wanting more.
Having had his music described by Pigeons and Planes as “effortlessly commanding” Energe, as of late has been playing the shadows for the last several months before completely ‘disappearing’ from most social platforms for “fear of ingesting his peers style”, which is a common thing amongst artists in this day and age. Energe embraces his habit of morphing into a recluse because it is in this creative space that his distractions are few and vibes are plentiful.
