ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The mission of the Wonda Women Project is to encourage women through the culture and elements of Hip Hop to never compromise their views, and to serve as a voice for the voiceless. In 2007, two female veteran emcees plan to embark on a twenty (20) state, thirty (30) city and ten (10) country tour spreading the message of Zero Tolerance through the language of hip hop. The Wonda Women tour, also referred to as W2 is comprised of female hip hop artists, Ang 13 and Unmuvabo Vendetta. These ladies will challenge those who continue to rape women with degrading language, limitations, judgment and images. Wonda Women (W2) will remind ladies of their responsibility and worth.
Through various sponsorship efforts, Wonda Women continue to aggressively raise funding for their missionary work. At the completion of the tour, the Wonda Women Project will open the Zero Tolerance Ink. facility, with the intention of incorporating a place where female hip hop artist and executives of all genres can have a place to creatively compile a project and showcase their work in one of three tours per year. Zero Tolerance Ink. will also recognize female artist each year with their Annual Awards and Recognition ceremony.

“…Break them shackles off our minds…” ~Uneq’ka


Yo, fans of underground hip-hop/rap, where were you last Wednesday? Watching another exciting episode of “Lost”? Well, if you weren’t at the Darkroom, you missed one heck of a show! SouthSide believed this was the BEST Analog Playground showcase ever sponsored by Floential Productions. What did you miss? How about a soulful songbird, Uneq’ka and the divas of underground hip-hop/rap, The Wonder Women Project. The packed house was treated to eclectic sounds of experimental jazz by GK Duo as well as hip-hop Milwaukee style from Black Elephant. BBLACC rocked the stage with a combination of freestyle hip-hop of Spanish and English. In other words, Fearless fans, Analog Playground 10 had one fantastic line-up! The music provided by DJ Chief Rock kept the hyped momentum going between sets. Jaytoo, the DJ your mama loves, once again served as host for this Analog. Hail to the Queens of underground hip-hop! They truly showed ALL those present that women can definitely rap! The Wonder Women Project kicked off this Analog Playground showcase with an ass-kicking bang! Ang 13 and Unmuvabo were dropping lyrical rhymes so hot, they probably melted their mics like butter. The audience crowded the stage to groove to their funky beats and harmonized vocals. Though the bass was vibrating hard during their set, they were hyped for Wonder's music from African drum beats to crunk. They even performed hip-hop with a hardcore rock sound which had heads banging amongst the audience. The Wonder Women impressed SouthSide with a commanding presence from start to finish, while on stage. Their last song absolutely tore up the stage with more hot lyrics and bumpin’ music, but it was hard to hear the lyrics over the cranked up beats. Still, the ladies of The Wonder Women Project performed one seriously kick-ass performance for this Analog crowd. So take notes, gents, these ladies deserve your utmost respect. The next performance had a Spanglish (Spanish and English) flair to their rhymes and beats, which the audience really enjoyed. B.B.L.A.C.C. with his co-freestyle MC, Puerto Rican, began their set with a song about Humboldt Park (located in the northwest side area of Chicago). They wowed the crowd with their rapid fire lyrics and music provided by Chris of Floential Productions. The floetry was so smooth and fast that it kept the audience near the stage rockin’ to their set. B.B.L.A.C.C. did perform something for all the lovely ladies as they slowed the beats down a bit. SouthSide like the way they would incorporate a mix of Spanish and English within their lyrics as well as a touch of musica latina. One song had a combo of rapping and singing which their vocals harmonizing nicely during certain parts. Their use of reggae and merengue beats added a touch of island flavor, additionally enhancing their lyrical flow.

Wisconsin was well-represented by this next group and they certainly kicked some dairy ass on the Darkroom stage. They showed the Chi-Town crowd how it’s done up north in Milwaukee and were the first out-of-town act to perform at any of the Analog Playgrounds. And SouthSide believed they won’t be the last, after rocking the stage during their set. Black Elephant impressed SouthSide with their unique R&B/Soul sound for their lyrical flow. Some of their tracks were produced by Chi-Town’s own 7Lee that had a hardcore sound with a bumpin’ bass. Their songs Life Ain’t Fair was about political corruption and the state of society today while A City, though about Milwaukee, represented every big city, including Chi-Town. SouthSide had some laughs with the lyrics to this song especially rule #10 “If you make it out of the city, never come back again!” LOL! Black Elephant had tight floetry and command of the audience’s attention throughout their set. Hey, Fearless fans in Milwaukee, check out Black Elephant when they perform soon at Miramar!

The beautiful songbird who performed next opened her set with a moving, soulful and sentimental acappella song. Hip-Hop National Anthem by Uneq’ka was passionate, as they sang about “Break[ing] them shackles off our minds”. It was a fitting song to end Black History month, because the message in the song truly hit home with everyone in the audience. Uneq’ka combined hip-hop floetry and acappella vocals with live guitar (by Brian) and drums (by Oz) during her performance. The addition of live music made it really unique and apart from the others SouthSide had reviewed before. Uneq’ka’s songs, Fearless fans, were laced with truthful messages about life, society and we as a people - Fearless Radio. Com
