One 2wenty One is comprised of two individuals whose stories are anything but typical. Cajuan Wright & Terrell Lamont met each other in the spring of 98 while cutting class in high school to hone their musical skills. What started with a few chords on the piano, God transformed into a full-fledged production team, group & life-long friendship.
Terrell draws his hip-hop musical influences from The Roots, Talib Kweli, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Jay-Z & many others. He also prides himself in making music that doesnt sound like the typical cookie-cutter tracks you hear on mainstream radio. Terrell has been rapping since he was a pre-teen & when younger, he would battle anyone in the Twin Cities area to prove he was the best. A desire for fame, fortune & a hunger to be known as the absolute best drove him to pursue a career in the music industry.

Cajuan Wright actually started his musical career with a pair of drumsticks & then took a stab at singing RnB & playing the piano. Loving many genres of music but never really feeling satisfied doing one thing, for a time he actually ceased doing anything musical & started running the streets with many less-than-honorable individuals. It was by a series of crazy events & Gods sovereign grace that put Terrell & Cajuan together. The two clicked instantly & collaborated on a few miscellaneous musical endeavors before coming to Christ & forming One 2wenty One.

God has since changed the hearts of One 2wenty One. Both Terrell & Cajuan credit God alone & His grace for everything He has done for them. There have been many ups & downs throughout the life of the duo. Terrell grew up in a home that was consumed with the on & off lifestyle of drugs & violence. Cajuan has been struggling to stay alive due to extreme health issues since the age of eleven. One 2wenty One is determined to use the gifts granted to them by God to share with believers & unbelievers alike what God has done & what he continues to do in their lives.

One 2wenty One was officially born in early 2008. The duo has performed at various venues around the Twin Cities area, from local churches & outreach events to places like Club 3 Degrees & more. They often perform with a full live band & recently finished as a top finalist in the annual Club 3 Degrees music tournament. Their debut album Life, sin and God Vol. 1 is scheduled to be released in 2009 & there are also plans to release a free mixtape hosted by DJ Tech. One 2wenty Ones music sounds like nothing youve ever heard before, yet it has a familiar vibe to it. Their music is passionate & soulful & will touch & inspire listeners for years to come.
