Bio

An idea by drummer Drew Fletcher inspired the beginning of 12th and Vine in Pullman, Washington. After talking with guitarist Greg Floyd, the two invited bassist Eric Gobel to join the newly formed band. The three worked well together and began producing grooves that would later become crowd favorites. The band began their search for a vocalist to accompany their soul moving sound. It wasn’t long before female vocalist Faaizah Fard was added to the band. Faaizah's soulful style and passionate stage performance gave the group the power and intrigue that has captivated many audiences since. 12th and Vine had suddenly found its necessary elements, all adding to the production of a contemorary rhythm and blues/rock sound that was evolving to become very unique. It wasn’t long before the band began to find its niche at Washington State University, and in the winter of 2003, the band 12th & Vine found its way into the music scene at WSU. By early 2004, 12th & Vine was already meeting with success as they were declared the winners of the “Battle of the Bands” competition on campus. Also early in 2004, the band met Aaron Myers, a pianist/keyboardist, and asked if he would like to perform as a studio musician on their first album Satisfied. Realizing the need for Aaron’s sound, the band began inviting him to sit in during live shows. Eventually, due to a mutual respect and admiration between Aaron and the band, the members of 12th & Vine extended an invitation to Aaron, asking him to join the band. This is how the group stands today, highlighted by innovative and edgy improvisations, intense modern rhythms, and beautiful heart felt lyrics and melodies. The band has continued to find success with their astounding level of performance and have played various shows from bars and pubs to campus events to opening for big name bands and headlining festivals. Places that 12th & Vine have been warmly received include: opening for MXPX, Vendetta Red and Cyprus Hill at Beasley Coliseum (Washington State University- Pullman, WA), Rico’s Pub (Pullman, WA), Highway 99 Blues Club (Seattle, WA), Gas Works Park Blues Festival (Seattle, WA), Pullman Grill and Bar (Pullman, WA, Milfstock and WSU events; in Spokane, WA: Brick Wall Comedy Club and Blue Spark; in Moscow, ID: John’s Alley and CJ’s; also in Seattle, WA: J&M Café, Corner Inn, and in Tacoma: Jazzbones. 12th & Vine continues to draw in audiences of all ages and musical sensibilities. As they continue to perform, record, and write, their sound seems unlimited in its creativity and scope. 12th and Vine's fan base is increasing with every show, and the 2006 summer release of their second album (yet to be named) is much anticipated.
